So, on Friday, our four starters will have the following amount of rest:

 

1) Price: 3 days rest

2) Stroman : 1 days rest

3) Estrada: 4 days rest

4) Dickey: 3 days rest

 

Based on that, we should see our rotation set up as follows, assuming there isn't anything wrong with Price.

 

Friday: Estrada (4 days)

Saturday: Price (4 days)

 

Monday: Stroman (4 days)

Tuesday: Dickey:(6 days)

Wednesday: Estrada:(4 days)

 

Friday: Price (5 days)

Saturday: Stroman (4 days)

 

Why are you sad about Dickey's first start and Estrada's 2nd start?

What about the Royals? Cueto just pitched today, and Ventura pitched Monday. Looks like it might be Volquez starting game 1?

 

So we're looking at

 

Game 1: Estrada vs Volquez

Game 2: Price vs Ventura

Game 3: Stroman vs Cueto

Game 4: Dickey vs Young

Game 5: Estrada vs Volquez

Game 6: Price vs Ventura

Game 7: Stroman vs Cueto

 

Royals will probably pitch Cueto on short rest though... Maybe Ventura too.

Price threw like what, 50 pitches? I think he's safe for Friday if the Jays want him to pitch that game.

 

that's a damn big if you got there mate.... lol

 

Price has been the weakest link so far and it's not even close.

I like the looks of that. I would be very surprised if Cueto goes on short rest, with the season he's had health wise.

I just can't see the Royals only starting Cueto one time. This series may not go to 7 games.

Cueto going twice on short rest would be a boost for the jays.

Very true...except skill set and about 1500 MLB innings suggest he's your go-to guy if he's 100%

Agreed but Kansas City bullpen is much better and they are much more athletic. The Rangers speed guys and bullpen gave us the most trouble in this last series. Kansas City is like that on steroids. We have had some success against the Royals bullpen including Wade Davis so that gives me some confidence.

I'm more than willing to write Price's ALDS troubles off as a problematic matchup with the Rangers. I hope and expect his ace status to be reinforced against the Royals

Same, Dallas and Mc Hugh were scary enough. Add in Altuve and CC and that team is scary. I am happy to face the Royals. Plus, we have the intensity of the regular season games.

I'd say that their bullpen got significantly worse with the suckitude/loss of Holland. Wade Davis is elite, he's definitely the scariest one of them all. Then you kind of have Herrera and Madson, both pretty good, but not nearly on the same level and this lineup can get to their fastball-heavy repertoire.

And then you have Springer, Carlos Gomez, a hot Rasmus, a streaky Chris Carter who can explode at any time. Their team scares me a lot more than KC's and at the end of the day I'm glad we're facing the (IMO) inferior team.

Yup plus Yost will over work them because he never lets his starters go deep in games. Partially because they can't but Houston is as free swinging as it gets. We are as patient as it gets. If there starters can't go deep against Houston outside of Cueto in game 5 they are going to have a lot of problems covering innings against us. We definitely have the advantage on the mound. I didn't really care who we played but I feel pretty good going into this series.

KC is not the inferior team, if they were inferior then they wouldn't have won 9 more games during the regular season.
