spittin Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I think the amount of debate here validates the call and the more glaring things to me are the 2 missed long balls and lack of pinch hitting along with not trusting Hendricks (which was a theme all season long.)
billydak1d Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 yeah and most of that shoe bottom is touching the side of the bag....if your eyes were any good you would have seen a long time ago that this team is not really that good
billydak1d Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 hehehehe....what's the matter baby
spittin Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Why are the people with 1's for I's in their name always trolls.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 troll ^ Careful King. You don't want to get banned in the playoffs. Leave this one for o2cui2i to not notice or not care about.
labadee Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I just got selected to join the FBI so my eyes have to be in the top 5% of best possible vision in the world....I don't know what eye doctor you're seeing (or not seeing, no pun intended), but he's clearly safe....let's be honest here dud I don't like to play my Dr card, that often and only chime in when asked, but as one of the actual doctors on this board, let me tell you something. EVEN IF your eyes are better like you say they are it wouldn't matter in this case because we are seeing all in the same resolution. when we say 20/20 vision it means that I can see at 20 feet what a normal person can see at 20 feet. If your vision is 40/20 that means you what you see at 40 feet is what normal people can see at 20 feet. We are arguing over a picture that is 30cm from our faces, unless you can see individual pixels (which i can tell you right f***ing now you cannot) then everyone here has a right to their own view. BTW that FBI crap and making eyes in the top 5% is all ********. don't try and discuss ophthalmology with me. you're going to lose.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 i have cursed this team. I become a blue jays fan on october 1st and all they do is lose. Time to go back to hockey. gtfo.
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Tsn posted that: Teams down 0-2 at home in div series are 2-17. 2012 SF and 2001 Yankees both came back and won. A third team pushed it to game 5. At least win the next game. Fans deserve a playoff win Glad to see there is still some optimism out there. At this point I, like many, have resigned to the fact we are most likely done. At least we still get to enjoy at least one more game of postseason ball. It's been 22 years and I'm going to enjoy it. No more expectations, just live in the moment.

ComeTogether Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Bad first inning d/pitching have done the jays in so many times this season. Can't keep starting the game behind. Considering the errors vets like Martin made today, that was the difference all you need to lose a game. Keys to next win is good starts to the game, and no errors.
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 As much as I wanted him to be out, it appeared to me that Tulowitzki probably pushed him slightly with his glove. So if he was off by 1/2" for 1/20th of a second then that was likely the result of the force of Tulowitzki's tag. Tulowitzki didn't seem very upset by the result.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Here is the video: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/63817564/v520880083/textor-gm2-odor-slides-back-into-second-safely/?query=Odor Skip to 2:56 for the relevant angle. 2:58 is the image posted above where it looks like his foot is off. Play it from there, 2:58-3:02, and you will see his spike become disengaged from the edge of the bag, causing his foot to slide down. But his spike seems to just slide down the side of the bag without actually falling away from the base entirely, and the sole of his cleat then comes in contact with the base. At 2:58 his spike is the only part of his cleat touching the base, which explains the visual gap between hit show and the base, because the spike adds depth. But he's still in contact with it. The motion of his foot during this slow-motion replay makes it fairly clear that he never lost contact. The way his foot plops down after 2:58 makes it obvious at 2:58 that his spike is actually on the bag, propping up the foot. To say anything else is disingenuous. If a picture says 1000 words, then what's a video worth? Spoken like a true lawyer...

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 One guy wanted to get the wave going and was shut down pretty hard by several people. I've never had people (other than friends and family) on my side about the wave before, so that was a pretty great moment. Were you in 510? "PAY ATTENTION TO THE GAME. f*** THE WAVE!!"

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I've slept on it...and left it behind. I'm a Leafs fan too...and I don't want this to be our Kerry Fraser. Here's the bottom line. Our Jays are in a slump. It happens to every team throughout any season...and it just so happens that the timing of this one is horrible. When you're on a roll, everything is going your way and you're winning games you shouldn't. And when it's not...you catch no breaks at all. We're seen what this team can do. Historically good offense. A ridiculous run since July 31st. We've seen great starting pitching...we've seen tremendous bullpen performances. The pieces are all here. The only question is, can they find themselves tomorrow and start righting the ship. The Jays blew a 3-1 series lead in '85. The blew a 3.5 game lead with 7 games left in '87. In 1989, after the 12-24 start, they had the best record in the AL the rest of the season (yes...that includes Oakland)...and Oakland still beat them 4-1 in the ALCS. In 1991, they were clearly better than the Twins on paper and yet they still lost in the ALCS. Winning a short series is hard. 1992, it was looking rough against Oakland, until Robbie's homer off Eck. In the same year, the Jays almost went to 0-2 to the Braves, if it wasn't for Sprague's homer off Jeff Reardon in the 9th. Let's see how this team handles adversity. Regardless of how it turns out, I'm proud of the team. They overcame a huge deficit against the Yankees and poured it on. I think this is something we can build on over the next few seasons and I'm excited when I look at it that way.
