I guess you guy's are right, but he'll likely be an MLB'er and you just don't know as a guy matures.

Lefty bat, 3b, good blood lines. Worth the $350K.

Can you imagine having a brother 22 years younger than you?

Yeah, I think Longenhagen has him too low.

Post it Jim? How many have they released?

Everyone in both leagues East and Central divisions plus the D-Backs. If someone hasn't by then, I might throw something on over my week off

Mitch Bannon

@MitchBannon

#BlueJays prospect C Gabriel Moreno (centre, back row) and the Cardenales de Lara clinched a spot in the Venezuelan Winter League playoffs yesterday.

Moreno has posted a .793 OPS in 16 games (65 PA), slashing .283/.415/.377 with 1 HR.

Oh damn Nestor Molina. Haven't heard that name in a long long time, since we dealt him for Santos.

Man back in those days I thought he'd be great after he put together that amazing minor league season in 2011. 2.21 ERA, 148K's in 130 innings and only 16 walks.

I thought Santos would be great. He had such great stuff. But he flamed out so quickly. :(

Thanks Jim. Leo above Groshans - didn't see that coming. This is probably the most positive writeup I've ever read on Leo.

Limited to 54 games and five rehab appearances due to a dislocated left shoulder, Jimenez had a special statistical season, slashing .320/.523/.392 while walking nearly twice as often as he struck out. Yes, a .523 OBP in 59 games. Jimenez has a special ability to put the bat on the ball, and he’s especially adept at getting on top of high fastballs. It is freakish bat-to-ball ability with very little impact, but that may be enough to enable a viable defensive shortstop like Jimenez to play a sizable big league role. Even though he is only 20 and hasn’t played above A-ball, Toronto felt compelled to put Jimenez on their 40-man this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft ahead of previously more famous members of their farm system. We buy that Jimenez is at least going to become an important big league cog, but his hit tool might be so special that he sneaks up on everyone and seizes hold of an everyday job, à la Nicky Lopez and David Fletcher.

Hype hype.. then I saw Nicky Lopez.

Nicky Lopez at 21 in Rookie ball - 62 games, 2 HR, 12.4% Walk rate, 10.6% K rate, wRC+ 132 triple slash .281/.393/.429 - 21 extra base hits

Leo Jimenez at 21 in A ball - 59 games, 1 HR, 21.1% walk rate, 14.5% K rate, wRC+ 168 triple slash .315/.517/.381 - 9 extra base hits

Jimenez is Nicky Lopez lite. Before now I couldn't even fathom Nicky Lopez having a "lite" version of himself.

For Jimenez to mirror Lopez's path, next season he would need to start at A+ ball and hit his way to a wRC+ of 125 at that level, get promoted to AA halfway through and then hit like a limp noodle for the rest of the season.
