Steamer is projecting that Simeon Woods Richardson would have a near 7 K/9 and 3.85 BB/9 if he were to pitch in the majors right now.

That seems kind of absurd for an 18 year old in High-A, no?

Tells you what the numbers think, as do this FO.

Can we discuss this line...

0.0ip 3h 6er 3bb 6bf 15 pitches...

Thats the s***** version of an immaculate inning.

Btw it’s Jackxarel Lebron.

That's some extreme sh**.

I'm most impressed by the fact he did it on 15 pitches only! Which means of the 6 batters he faced, he walked 3 of them on 4 straight balls, and the other 3 batters got a hit on his very first pitch of the atBat.

For the lower levels of the minors, pitch counts on box scores can't be trusted. They assume 4 balls for every walk and 3 strikes for every strikeout. Lebron most likely had far more pitches than that.

Thanks. Good to know. My first impression was like 'How was that possible? so extreme'.

Oh, he followed a game day.

Kyle Johnston was acquired by the Jays in the Hudson deal.

Before trade: 105 IP, 37 BB, 100 K

After trade: 18.2 IP, 20 BB, 12 K

Aaron Sanchez would be so proud.

I hate these gifs. That second pitch didn't have a lot of movement and a pretty clear hump indicating a curveball. Pretty sure that doesn't get immortalized on twitter if the dude hits it 500 feet. First one was nice high heat, sure.

I'm so tired of these.

Part of me is wanting to turn breaking balls from Jason Vargas, Buddy Boshers and idk, Clayton Richard into gifs. Then caption "omg amazing movement!!!"

Hope the Jays hire you, because you know your f***ing s***!

Orelvis homered in both games of a doubleheader in the GCL, and Hiraldo homered for Bluefield. They are both very young, and very far away, but it's still great to have guys like these performing well.

God forbid someone have a dissenting opinion on the internet

I don't care for the captions but I've been posting them so that the ones that haven't been able to see any of these guys pitch, can at least get a small visual of what they/their stuff looks like... For better or worse.

Anyone else going to the Bisons game to watch Pearson today? Come and say hello. I'll be wearing a Dunedin Jays shirt and usually sit in the second level on the 3rd base side.

Here are Chavez Young's numbers at A+ over the past 8 weeks (188 PA):

Much more like the player we all thought he was. Hopefully he can add some power to his game, though.

Nate Pearson so far today:

He's probably done there, based on the pitch count.

Impressive, and from what I read the 2 hits he gave up were a infield single and a homerun.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to throw shade at you and now I'm realizing that's how it came off. I totally get why you're posting them and that's all good, I just don't like the dipshitty captions.

Joey Murray today:

6 IP

6 H

4 ER

1 BB

6 K

1 HBP

100 P-59 S

He gave up a 3-run homer in the third, which marred an otherwise good pitching performance.

A bit hard to really recognize due to the video quality, but the second breaking ball was nasty and even more so when the hitter has to be preparing for high 90s heat.

I hope THANOS can stop questioning the AAA pitching coach now lol. Big Nate is good.

Lol I was pleased to see that line. I'm not used to seeing YYZ throw up a Zeuch type K line, so I was worried naturally.

This is more of what I expect. Would love to see him punch out 10-12 in one start.

I was at the game today and was concerned initially. He gave up 2 loud outs deep to centre that were run down by Davis and the HR and single in the first 3 innings while consistently falling behind in the count. He also had no strikeouts thru 3 but righted the ship and ended up going 6 innings with 7 K's and only giving up the 2 hits. His velocity went up as the game progressed and was sitting 98/99 in the last few innings. I guess my expectations were a little high for him after watching Nate plow thru batters in Dunedin.

2019 34th-rd pick Luis Quinones continues to impress in Vancouver. Yeah, he's 22, but he's been fantastic so far. He might be worth keeping an eye on to see if he can keep this going as he levels up.
