Nice. Wish we could get better footage of his pitches in Vancouver.

So we are only a few days away from Sept. 1st. I wonder who will get called up. I am thinking Alford, J. Davis, Zeuch, and Kay will be called up. Thoughts ??

Jonathan Davis, Anthony Alford, SRF, Richard Urena, Justin Shafer, Thomas Pannone, Yennsy Diaz, Brock Stewart, Patrick Murphy, and Beau Taylor? Doubtful we see Hector Perez yet.

Zeuch and Kay would need to be added to the 40-man roster.

Damn, he was so good that he was able to subtract a walk.

Good point - totally forgot about that

ETA but wouldn't it be good to get an early read on these guys with a team that literally has no starting pitching right now (Waguespack is currently our best SP )

Another guy (currently on the 60 day DL and thus off the 40 man roster) is Elvis. I think he needs something like 17 more days on the active roster to meet the requirements for keeping him via the rule 5 draft. I think the Jays are dead serious about keeping this guy, so you can add him to the Sept. call-up / roster addition list.

Yeah, no brainer. Is he throwing in games yet?

Edit: Not yet.

Lol just noticed I forgot the walk. Still, dude seemed dominant from gameday. A few 3 pitch Ks in that total.

Sorry I can't find any info on that right now. I thought I saw about a week ago where they said he (Luciano) was ready to get back into game action, but I can't find anything on him at AAA, AA, A+ or Lansing.

Anyone ?

Nah, no professional games yet. He's likely going to be on a mound soon, I read the same(tweet), he's throwing to live batters in Dunedin.

I noticed Alford was back last night. I'm not sure what his injury was, but he pretty much missed the minimum. When I saw he got hurt mid month, I thought that could blow his shot any playing time in September. He looks to be on track to getting a few at bats come September.

There is really no reason to take at bats away from Hernandez, Fisher, Guriell. No reason at all. No thanks Alford Jeff

Alek Manoah looks great, I will be surprised if he isn't hitting top 100 lists this offseason.

I think he'll be on some, but I think he'll just miss on most. Just my gut feeling

Is Manoah showing a 3rd pitch or just raping kids with fastball/slider?

I know one of his previous starts, he didn't even throw many sliders. Instead he opted to focus on his changeup. I think he knocked around a bit if I remember correctly, but he's definitely working on that 3rd pitch.

Daniel (Brooklyn): Its just a 6+ week stretch but its hard to ignore Luis Medina's tools- does this stretch/tool kit elevate him into the top 10 (or even 5) of Yankees prospects in postseason lists?

Ben Badler: He's one of the more difficult prospects to pin down, because the gap between his pure stuff and his performance (until recently) might be the biggest in baseball.

Ben Badler: There are still a ton of red flags there, but it's good to at least see some signs of progress with him.

Tom (Canada): Orelvis Martinez has been on a ridiculous tear, and is one of the best hitters in the GCL at 17. Think he could open up in full season ball next year?

Ben Badler: Unless he's hurt in the spring, I'd be surprised if he's not in Low-A to open 2020.

Nate (Parts Unknown): Seems like injuries have held down Jordan Groshans prospect status. If he's healthy next year, what kind of ceiling does he have in the rankings?

Ben Badler: If he just stays on the field, I think we're talking about a top 25 overall prospect in the minors at this time next year.

Wondering if anyone has heard anything about Eric Pardinho.

I know his last start was August 7th and he was placed on the 7-Day IL for maintenance reasons and to skip a start like Pearson did earlier this season...but it's been almost 3 weeks since he pitched. Is he shut down for the season for load or is there something actually going on.
