Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 Cal Stevenson is very quickly becoming one of my favourite guys to follow in our system on a daily basis. Pretty outstanding for a $5000 signing bonus guy.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 BA Jays top 30 update 7. Gabriel Moreno, C An athletic catcher with great bat-to-ball skills, Moreno started to show a little bit more power last year and has continued that upward trend this year with low Class A Lansing. Wow, this is an aggressive ranking for Moreno. Encouraging.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Wow, this is an aggressive ranking for Moreno. Encouraging. Moreno is a really good prospect. Young for level, plus bat with good peripherals for a catcher, shortstop athleticism. K/BB discipline can improve but projectable bat.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 This is a very very very bad top 100 list. Enjoy. https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/the-stash-list-my-top-100-prospects/ They’ve admitted before on podcast that half their rankings on tools and FV values are pretty BS. They follow certain prospects closely, but it’s difficult to have a strong grasp of top 30 prospects in all 30 teams. While also religiously following the MLB scene. Their top guys are usually not too far off, but beyond that it enters grain of salt territory. They also use a funky value system that isn’t perfect. BA puts a lot, and I mean A LOT of thought and discussions into tool grades and prospect rankings. Especially their top 100 list, it’s pretty much the gold standard and many publications use them as a reference point. They also religiously follow many prospects from their HS and college days, and talk to both pro and amateur scouts when ranking every prospect. Just listen to their recent podcast and it’s very apparent.
AintNoThang Verified Member Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Guerrero's slow start, and other players like Jimenez, is enough to justify keeping Bichette down until next year. They both played much better offensively in AAA and are both struggling to find success right now. At least on the level expected.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2019 Author Posted July 27, 2019 Dasan Brown debuted yesterday. 1 for 3 (triple). Followed that up with another 1 for 3 (double) today.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Speaking of Dasan Brown, I figured posting this here would be a good idea: Radio Scouts Podcast: Prospect Special #3 https://tinyurl.com/y2t99e4m Listen up! We're back to discuss the Blue Jays' farm system and hope that you join us for Prospect Special #3. We talk Bo Bichette at length, then discuss the Blue Jays on the recent BA Top 100 and some of the notable players in the BA Blue Jays' Org 30 including Jordan Groshans and opine how close Alek Manoah, Alejandro Kirk, and Gabriel Moreno may be to breaking on to the Top 100. We also have a conversation about Cal Stevenson. Lastly, we debut a new mailbag segment with some content on Maximo Castillo, Patrick Murphy, assignments of Manoah, Kendall Williams, and Dasan Brown, as well as some players to watch in the second half. Thanks for listening! With BlueRocky and I
TheOutsider Verified Member Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Looks like my compatriots Robberse and Casimiri made their debuts today, in the GCL. Robberse pitched 2 innings with 3 Ks and Casimiri 1 2/3 innings with 1 K and neither of them allowed any baserunners.

43211234 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 You at the game? No haha. I had just tuned into the radio feed before writing that post. Manoah faces 4 batters: K, double, groundout, K The only velocity reading I heard the radio announcers say was 91mph on the pitch to end the inning with a strikeout.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Taking a back seat to the hullabaloo of the Stroman trade, Bo Bichette is making his MLB debut on Monday, guys. I'm just not sure if enough of us have taken the time to let that sink in. The future is right f***ing now!
