Is Vlad hurt? He was the DH and was pinch run for late (tho he didn't miss any PAs), but then didn't play the other game of the double header.

I hope so. That way they could easily shut him down and send him to the AFL or DWL.

He was HBP and PR for after that. Could just be a conservative measure?

It was a sub to get a faster runner on and then it was a planned rest for the 2nd game

Fangraphs write up on Cal Stevensen from Fangraphs. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/daily-prospect-notes-8-29-2018/

Cal Stevenson, OF, Toronto Blue Jays

Level: Advanced Rookie Age: 21 Org Rank: NR FV: 35

Line: 3-for-4, 2B, 4 SB

Notes

College seniors are expected to dominate short-season leagues after signing but what Cal Stevenson has done merits some discussion, in part because he played through a hand injury this spring that may have clouded his actual skill. Stevenson has a .513 OBP at Bluefield because he has walked nearly three times more often than he’s struck out. He’s also stolen 21 bags in 22 attempts since signing. These numbers corroborate scouting reports which compliment Stevenson’s plus speed and bat-to-ball skills before noting his likely corner-outfield defensive projection and lack of characteristic power for the position. But let’s keep an eye on this guy because Toronto has a track record of making swing adjustments to bat-first college players that have helped those players become more viable prospects.

This whole sentence was a rollercoaster. Thanks for posting though actually, lol.

Woops. Lol I was copying and pasting multiple s*** and ended up with that abortion of a sentence. I'll just leave it though.

Excellent. Nice to see it confirmed that Vlad won't be promoted.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette & Cavan Biggio will represent #BlueJays in the Arizona Fall League this year

Vlad Jr. will play 3B (not OF), Bichette will play SS (and a little 2B), Biggio will continue getting reps in OF

I thought each team got 7 prospects, who else are we sending? I thought Pearson was going to get some innings,

One would think Pearson for sure. I'd guess maybe Alford, Paulino, and Perez as well.

Who's responsible for this?

Hello Eric A. Longenhagen, I'm looking for the next Garrett Cooper. Preferably someone who's older and his trackman readouts are nuts. Do you have any ideas?

loll..

Sandy Eggo

2:23 Luis Urias has a beautiful swing. Followed him since A-ball, saw him for the first time in the fall league last year and saw him get his first MLB hit this week. Brought tears to my eyes. Do you ever feel like a proud papa seeing prospects you've scouted for so long finally debut?

He seems like a real curmudgeon, same with Kiley.

I can't quote people but I think the 6 we're sending so far are Bo, Vlad, Biggio, Zach Jackson, Jackson McClelland and Shawn Morimando with the 7th spot likely going to Pearson if he's healthy.

What happened to Vlad playing in the playoffs with New Hampshire?

I think that is something that went through our heads ( specifically my head) as something that they would do as an excuse as to why he won't be up in Sept.

The f***? Zero Orioles. I was informed that they had a top ten farm system after they traded away all their competent players.

According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the agents for White Sox top prospect Eloy Jimenez are considering filing a grievance over his lack of a promotion to the majors.

Advice: "How can you say with a straight face this guy needs to work on anything?," Paul Kinzer, the president of Rep1 baseball agency, told Heyman. "What’s he need to work on?" It's a fair point, as Jimenez has posted an incredible .365/.406/.604 batting line with 11 home runs and 32 RBI in 51 games at Triple-A Charlotte, after slashing .317/.368/.556 with 10 homers and 42 RBI in 53 games for Double-A Birmingham. White Sox player development director Chris Getz said earlier this month that the 21-year-old was "really close" to being called up, but it obviously hasn't happened yet.

Hit another Dinger last night.

Nice to see that blue-collar grinder Chris Getz has gone to the management dark side and is now shilling for service time manipulating corporate cronies.

Imagine clawing your whole career for service time and the league minimum, and then when you retire just betraying your brothers and union and outright lying about how ready Eloy Jimenez is for the majors so that the ownership side of baseball can get even fatter.

Bo had himself another nice game:

3/4, BB

He now has an OPS over .800 as well (.806). Not bad for a 20 year old in his first season of double AA while having some cold streaks in there.
