I'm going to head to the Bisons game on Thursday August 9th (Fergie Jenkins bobblehead day for those of you that care about that)...if anyone is interested in showing up the same day and meeting me.

That has long been a dream of mine

I don't want to overdo the Isaac Paredes posts, but this has to be shared. This is what his bat has yielded since June 1 (a span of 49 games) as a 19-year-old at High-A and AA:

Jo Adell... now THERE is someone with a Justin Upton type ceiling.

And he's actually black so the comparison is even more solid.

I will never get over Grant's Justin Upton comp for Billy McKinney. I don't care how you try to explain it, it still makes no sense and is way too funny. Billy f***ing McKinney.

I mean, McKinney isn't even black, so that kind of comparison isn't even allowed around these here parts.

This is some Harold Reynolds s*** going on here. White players can only be compared to white players. And black players can only be compared to black players.

Yes, but you're forgetting that hours before the trade Grant said that the team would certainly get significantly more for Happ than a package of Drury + Contreras + Gallegos. So his options were admitting that he was wrong, or arguing that McKinney carries significantly more value than Contreras + Gallegos. Given that it's Grant we're talking about, the only possible outcome was a Justin Upton comp thrown on McKinney.

I guess I didn't think it all the way through.

I also suppose that when you're scouting on the radio, Billy McKinney probably sounds black.

So what is our new Milb rankings (internal) after the three trades we have made so far...? i.e where do the prospects come in in our top 25 etc..

Only place that has done that so far is MLB Pipeline where they ranked Hector Perez 11 and David Paulino 20.

Just heard that on the radio, thanks!

Where is (was) the Jays farm system ranked compared to Houston's prior to the trade.. i'e Perez was 10 with Houston and Paulino was 23 I think in Houston's system..

Does that mean we have comparable systems?

Thanks

Hey Krylian, A lot of people liked my list. Some agreed with it and some disagree. Everybody has a opinion.

For example a lot of people are high on Anthony Alford and Dalton Pompey. I'm not because they should be performing

better then what they are. They have been with the jays five or six years each. Anthony is the blue jays 5th rated prospect even though he's hitting 220

Just because he has that five tool thing. And finally people are starting to notice it. He should be out of the jays top 30 until he earns it back. And that includes rowdy Tellez and ruchard urena

Alford has 4 star talent. Not a good throwing arm.

But is not improving. Which is what you want in a prospect. Like other prospect are.

For example. Chavez Young, Dominic Abbadessa, Brock Lundquist, and others

Mind you other prospects are not Rowdy Tellez, Richard Uruna, Jon Harris, Samad Taylor

Lol @ Lourdes Gurriel's placement.

Makes multiple top 100 lists

Outside of the Blue Jays top 20 for John Sickels
