jimedmonds Verified Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 is there seriously any hope left that Alford will materialize into anything? next season definitely looks like a make or break, but he has been so pathetic this season that it might not be a mistake to write him off into the dustbin of prospect history. at least he'll have Dalton Pompey to hang out with
tercet Verified Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Ryan Goins hit a hr off a Waguespack curveball, he is meh
tercet Verified Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 For all of you that think milb numbers matter -SRF 12ks in 6ip then Ryan Goins hits a hr off you lolololol
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 His stuff looks pretty darn good. Throw in the fact that he's 6'6" and you never know.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 For all of you that think milb numbers matter -SRF 12ks in 6ip then Ryan Goins hits a hr off you lolololol Ryan Goins has hit homeruns in the MLB against Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka and Trevor Bauer, those guys all suck right? You could not possibly be a bigger idiot. Imagine trying to downplay a 12 strikeout performance.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I wouldn't be shocked if Groshans > Bichette. Groshans' swing is much prettier than Bichette's. He made a ton of adjustments in the last year-ish that helped immensely, so this outcome wouldn't really surprise me at all.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I don't think Dalton Pompey makes it to April with the org. He's 26 next year, I'm pretty sure he's out of options, and he certainly hasn't established that he deserves to hold a 25-man spot all year.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Vlad is the tying run at the plate...

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Pompey will be a Brave by next season.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Pompey will be a Brave by next season. Marlins, along with Lourdes Gurriel for his brother
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) I am actually surprised Pompey is still here after all the injuries and him generally not getting along with people. Was hoping he would get an extended look in August and September but that seems unlikely at this point. We really do another Outfielder to hit against lefties. Watching Dwight Smith Jr and Granderson whiff badly is not fun. Edited August 2, 2018 by Jonn

I remember when Sportsnet did that story focussing on his parents living separately to get Dalton on to the AAA team with Mississauga North when Brampton wouldn't grant his release and laughing as that is not the way well adjusted people deal with this. I already knew his dad was insane through tournaments but this just showed the whole family is nuts.

I already knew his dad was insane through tournaments but this just showed the whole family is nuts. I remember playing against Dalton in Peewee. We had a double header against them and I was on the bench doing the scorebook for game 1. We always had to indicate what way a player hit. I labelled him as a righty and then coach gave me s*** because he was hitting left in his next at bat. Pretty sure he was the only 11 year old switch hitter in Ontario. His dad was definitely vocal.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Looks like he's got some pretty good downward movement with the fastball.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Tercet plz reply He's just gonna make the usual response that he's smarter than everyone else because while he can clearly see that he sucks we all view him as the next Max Scherzer even though no one has even remotely suggested that he'll be an average MLB regular.
spats Verified Member Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Was at the game today and was pretty impressed with Waguespack...hit 95 with his fastball and has a wipeout slider. Made 1 mistake all game ..hung a 75mph off speed that Goins spanked. Vlady showed a great eye at the plate and his liner in the 6th was right at the left fielder. The liner was preceded by a shot down the line that everyone in the stadium but the Ump saw hit the chalk for a fair ball.

Groshan’s looks promising but Bo is going to be a star.
