P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Pardinho is absolutely dealing - perfect through 4, 7 K, 35 of 50 pitches have been strikes.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Pardinho is absolutely dealing - perfect through 4, 7 K, 35 of 50 pitches have been strikes. Now: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Now: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K 77 pitches, 46 strikes, 2 GO, 3 FO. They'll probably yank him for a pitch count, but that's a damn impressive line
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 77 pitches, 46 strikes, 2 GO, 3 FO. They'll probably yank him for a pitch count, but that's a damn impressive line He's only thrown 68 pitches.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 He's only thrown 68 pitches. Correct. Pardinho is 46 strikes out of 68 pitches.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 He's only thrown 68 pitches. Haha, was looking at his 77 game score. My bad. Might get 1 more inning then EDIT: And nope. Pulled after 5.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Well that's a fun start to his pro career. I'm use to top pitching prospects getting bombed.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Yennsy Diaz 6IP 5H 2ER 1BB 9K 88 pitches (61 strikes)
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Yennsy Diaz 6IP 5H 2ER 1BB 9K 88 pitches (61 strikes) It's almost tempting to consider him a prospect
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Well that's a fun start to his pro career. I'm use to top pitching prospects getting bombed. Give it time.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Now: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K Jesus Christ
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Jesus Christ shouldn't be a surprise really.... the reports on Pardinho said he has an advanced arsenal for his age. Osuna was same way
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 shouldn't be a surprise really.... the reports on Pardinho said he has an advanced arsenal for his age. Osuna was same way Not a bad comparison. Osuna was 17 in rookie ball, and threw pretty well in Bluefield before getting moved up to Vancouver after only 24 innings (7 games, 4 starts), 24 K and 6 BB. Pardinho is poised to surpass those numbers after 13 innings with 19 K, and only 2 BB and 5 hits
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 Wish Pardinho was 5 inches taller like Osuna though.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Wish Pardinho was 5 inches taller like Osuna though. That was also back when Osuna ate his feelings instead of physically expressing them. Lets hope the success is the only comparable between the 2.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Wish Pardinho was 5 inches taller like Osuna though. Pardinho is 5'10 so he's got 2 inches on Stro. Pedro was only 5'11 btw.

tercet Verified Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Anyone else slightly worried about Griffin Conine? 13-1 k/bb so far through 40~ abs in Vancouver.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Anyone else slightly worried about Griffin Conine? 13-1 k/bb so far through 40~ abs in Vancouver. Not even a little.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I know. Just wish he was taller. Wish he was a baller....
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Anyone else slightly worried about Griffin Conine? 13-1 k/bb so far through 40~ abs in Vancouver. His approach and contact rates were awful at Duke this year so no. He was going to be a project and it'll take him some time to figure it out.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 If Pardinho is 5'11', im 6'7'', maybe he grew a few inches since I saw him in March though.. Tough reference to apply without having a clue how tall you actually are. Is he closer to the 5'9 he was listed at when we signed him?
Ray Verified Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Anyone else slightly worried about Griffin Conine? 13-1 k/bb so far through 40~ abs in Vancouver. He went 2-4 with a double and HR today. Not too worried. He was always gonna strike out a lot. I still like the pick. Young for a college guy (still only 20 years old) and legit power.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Uh-oh... the re-evaluation is going to suck giant veiny dick for Olerud. We're doomed! Not doomed yet. I was positive a couple of days ago when they announced the running program... this is pretty bad news though. The fact that they are hinting that he still can't run without discomfort is not good. The July 8th return doesn't look like it will happen. The great Vlad Guerrero Jr. re-evaluation new conference, where they announce he is back on the plane to New Hampshire doesn't look like it will happen. The news conference will go something like this. Blue Jays Central Special Announcement - "We had hoped to announce that Vlad Guerrero Jr. is on his way to New Hampshire to play today. Unfortunately he has not tried to run yet. He will do that in a few days. He will not play today July 8th, however he will be running very soon. In a few days. What is a few days?? It is a short time period. He will probably try to run Tuesday or Thursday. That is July 10th or 12th. I am sure it will be fine. He will run very well. He will be back on the 14th." So it's pushed back Original Vlad return date - July 8th New Vlad return date (he has to try to run first) - July 14th So it begins.

Anthony Alford - Still the top athlete in the system 2. Eric Pardinho - The next Pedro Martinez 3. Jordan Groshans - A new hope 4. Cal Stevenson - Barry Bonds on base percentage, lots of time to develop the power. 5. Reese McGuire - Getting hot with the bat and calls a great game (seriously, according to many posters on BJMB, Reid Foley has a 40.00 ERA with the other guy, 1.88 with McGuire). Why your favourite player did not make the list (they will make the top 100 when I compile that, so don't worry) 1. Vlad Guerrero Jr. - Call me back when he can actually jog around a bit 2. Bo Bichette - Every time you think he's finally getting hot, he goes 1/20 3. Danny Jansen - His average is converging to McGuire's and according to BJMB Reid Foley can't pitch to him 4. Reid Foley - Pitching good lately, but if he needs McGuire as a personal catcher it's a risk. Love McGuire but what if I'm wrong on him and he's another Josh Thole?? 5. Kevin Smith - Call me back when he stops striking out 3 times a game in Dunedin.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Olerud going off the rails. Or hitting too many rails
Blaine Bullard Dunedin Blue Jays - A OF In Thursday's doubleheader, the 19-year-old went 5-for-8. He was 3-for-5 with two doubles in the first game and 2-for-3 in the second game. Explore Blaine Bullard News >
