94 wRC+ since he was demoted = decidedly not killing it.

ok not killing it but a respectable 122 wRC+ in July. No reason we can't get a decent look at him this season.

DSJ passes the eye test (at the plate) for me. I'd like to see him get some playing time down the stretch to see if he could serve as the 4th OF next year. We probably need a trade though to see that happen.

It seemed like he hit a lot of groundballs that just found holes. And since he's not good defensively and can't play CF he has to hit really well to be a 4th OF.

I'm so grateful that those two are in our system. Otherwise it has not been an overly positive year on the farm between underperformance and injury, but those two make up for it.

The farm has been fine, players that shouldn't have been held in high regard regressed to the mean, new promising talent has been added and the top 3 prospects have all performed incredibly well, save for Alford's injury, and he's come back to play reasonably well in AA. The pitching is thin but everyone knew that was a weakness.

You can say those players shouldn't have been held in high regard, but they were and that's all I was referring to. Outside of the big two, we've seen a lot of either underperformance (SRF, Tellez, Urena etc) or injuries (Alford, Gurriel etc) from the others who were considered to be among our top prospects. Particularly disappointed that we haven't seen any of the top arms step up and make our 2018 SP depth look any stronger.

So yes, I'm grateful that Vlad and Bo have been so impressive, otherwise it hasn't been an overly positive year among those who were considered to be our best prospects. That doesn't mean I'm worried at all about the state of our farm overall.

Fair.

The defense looked bad, but I'm not going to draw conclusions based on like 5 games in LF this year. I thought reports said he could adequately cover CF (one in awhile as a 4th OF role) and was above average in LF.

I noticed Cristian Lopes suited up the GCL jays today, did he get demoted from AAA all the way down?

Most likely recovering from injury if that's the case.

What a stupid f***ing question.

Stop being pretentious, he just asked a simple question.

2 for 4 with 2 walks, triple, HR and 4 RBI.

I'd say his timing is okay

Ryan Borucki: 7IP 3H 1ER 1BB 7K

Bo: 2/5 with a stolen base

Vlad: 1/2 with 3 walks

Bo shows no signs of slowing down. Vlad is an 18 year old walking as much as he's striking out in a league where the average age is 23. Kids are insane.

TJS for Anderson Espinoza.

It seems more and more likely that he's never going to be the pitcher scouts think/thought he could be. He hasn't pitched at all yet this season, so he's going to lose the majority of two full seasons if the recovery goes as expected.

Pitching prospects suck. Load up on position players in the farm system and sign old guys for the rotation. Perfect formula.

Exactly Cubs and Astros did well and look at the Mets. f*** even the Astros screwed up by taking Appel over Bryant, could you imagine that team with Bryant on the roster...

It would be nice if we'd stop taking catchers though.

Speaking of drafted catchers, Hagen Danner is not doing so hot to start off his pro career: .197/.227/.295 with 20K and 1BB in Rookie League.
