Bojangles Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Four of us have our flights and hotel booked and were wondering if anybody is heading down to Arlington? Would like to know what section you'll be sitting in. Cheers Let's Go Blue Jays!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Wow, seems like an expensive trip. Where are you from?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Wow, seems like an expensive trip. Where are you from? +1 - are you making a trip out of it? Spending 4-5 days touring some cities? I love City trips. Either way - I love the effort and support!
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Would be a cool trip if any of the College Football teams were in town on the Saturday, but A&M is on a bye week and TCU is on the road. I guess Oklahoma vs. Texas is in the Cotton Bowl but Texas is so awful that it will lose the true feeling.
Bojangles Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Wow, seems like an expensive trip. Where are you from? Making the trip down from Toronto. I'm 24, so it's my first taste of Postseason baseball as a long suffering Jays fan. Trying to soak it all in!

Either way - I love the effort and support! Had arrangements to head to New York if the Jays ended up facing the Yankees in the ALDS, never been to Texas so that's a plus as well. Going to be driving to Detroit and catching the flight from there.

Would like to know what section you'll be sitting in. Cheers Let's Go Blue Jays! I'll be driving up from Houston for both games (sec 14) then staying for the McDavid show on Tuesday. Then hopefully the Astros take care of the Yanks and Royals so I'll get to see some bonus games!
flafson Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Were you able to get tickets though? They are crazy expensive in Rogers, doubt it's going to be much cheaper over there.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If I was still in grad school at A&M I would be at every game
itaos Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I had planned on it but underestimated the cost of a flight to DFW. Probably save up for a trip deeper into the playoffs.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I'll be there! I booked my flight and hotel. Need to get tickets for the game still and I'm not sure where yet. Behind the visitor's dugout seems like where most Jays fans would be.

Yeah that would be pretty cool, TCU is a damn good program but the atmosphere isn't all that great and College Station is 2.5 hours from Dallas so it'd turn your trip in to a road trip for sure. The Red River Rivalry still might be the best bet, even if those other two teams were in town.

Behind the dugout, down the 3rd base line, and first few rows anywhere in right field were pretty great seats when I have been there. The most Jays fans have usually been around the dugout though.
bowld Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Being from So Cal I was really hoping the Angels would make it in and face the Jays so I could go to a few games. Gotta settle for TV now

Although I would still suggest going for the Fair.

TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 roughly how much is the flight + hotel + tix if you don't mind? I'm intrigued...
Bojangles Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Ended up getting tickets. 323 Row 2 for Game 3 and 318 Row 1 for Game 4. Hope to see you guys there
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 You booked a flight and hotel before you got tickets to a sold out game? Oh hey Grant. Haven't seen you on here in a while. But yeah, the tickets aren't that hard to get right now. For third party vendors, 55 bucks gets you in the door. 200 gets you really good seats. I may just scalp them right before the game.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 roughly how much is the flight + hotel + tix if you don't mind? I'm intrigued... Flight was 230 bucks but I'm coming from Denver. Coming from TO it'd be a lot more. Hotel prices are going up, Red River Rivalry is this weekend and the Cowboys play the Patriots at home. 100 for a shithole and 180 for something decent although that may continue to climb. Tickets to the game aren't bad. 60 bucks to get in and 200 for something decent.

AndyJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Does anyone have tickets? Are carpooling? Or know any Jays fans who will be in Texas?

AndyJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Hey ! I work at CTV News in Toronto, we're looking to chat with a couple Jays fans this weekend who will be going down to Texas for Game 3. Would you be interested at all ? GO JAYS GO
deadlee Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I'm going to game 3 in Arlington... Anyone know what time a possible (hopefully) game 4 is scheduled for? trying to change my return to see if i can catch the 2nd game there as well.

Anyone know what time a possible (hopefully) game 4 is scheduled for? trying to change my return to see if i can catch the 2nd game there as well. if the Astros/Royals are playing the game will start at 4:07 ET. If not, 1:07 ET. Also it's going to be very hot on Monday. Current high is 96 on Sunday and 93 on Monday. Also, rangers fan here and I live in Fort Worth, TX. If you have any questions about things to do while you're here, ask away. I'll stay out of any game discussions so as to not come off as trolling in any way.
rangersfan Verified Member Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Longhorn here. This is absolutely correct. Although I would still suggest going for the Fair. I would still go. It's a experience no matter what the game is like. 50-50 split down the middle of the stadium and the fair around it. I'm making my 5th appearance on Saturday.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I guess I was wrong about the Longhorns. Always happy to see the Sooners lose
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
