BTS Community Moderator Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 If we're down 2-1, do you use Price in game 4? I don't think so. They won't use Stroman on 3 days rest anyway if they win game 4.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I don't think so. They won't use Stroman on 3 days rest anyway if they win game 4. Wut. Stroman would be ready for game 5 on full rest.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Plus, he's a bonafide ace. You don't sour on him after one mediocre start. That's how jobs are lost. I've been at his last 2 starts and neither was very good. But I still give him the ball because he is a bona fide ace and has the stuff to turn a bad streak into a no hitter/shutout in one game. He is David Price.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Wut. Stroman would be ready for game 5 on full rest. You're right. I thought Saturday was the only off day.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Serious question: If Stroman dominates tomorrow and this series goes the distance, who pitches game 5? Price on five days rest or Stroman on regular rest? I would probably have to give the ball to Marcus. Price has been very average over his last three starts and Stroman just seems to be getting better and better. You have to go with Price, you got him for the big games and Today is the first day he didn't deliver.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 To be honest I think Stroman himself would lobby for Price to pitch in that situation, haha. I know he looks up to Price a lot. It's amazing how Price can have the kind of the year that he's had with us, has one bad start in the playoffs and many people start to question whether he should even be out there pitching (not necessarily from anyone here on this board but from many bandwagon fans I've seen elsewhere)... his past playoff record IMO is just that, in the past, against different lineups than what it currently is, and I think his performance throughout THIS year should hold more weight. He's been very good for like 10 out of 12-13 starts he's been with us, many of them in very high pressure games... so I'll gladly take those odds to throw him out there again for game 5. He's our ace for a reason.
scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 After tomorrow's game, hubby has to go back to work to tidy up his networking stuff for the weekend, so I will be drinking alone at Corner Place Bar on Front (near Jarvis). If the Jays win, I would love to buy any of ya'll a drink of whatever the fine ladies there say they have on tap. If the Jays lose tomorrow, I would welcome someone who would listen to my rants about Taylor f***ing Swift. So I would still probably owe a drink. Anyone game? Am not a young'un so no Chris Mathews waiting, but am a pleasant enough lady who loves sports, so your afternoon would be well spent.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Stroman either dominates tomorrow or implodes due to being too hyped up. We win tomorrow and I'm very confident. Destroy Perez in game 3 and suddenly we are up 2 games to 1. Glad the game is at 9:30 pst. Wouldn't want to be actually able to enjoy the biggest game in 22 years.

scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Try plenty of fish or Ashley Madison Oh dear. Um. No. Just offering a free pint of fine Toronto beer to those who might have made a trek and felt they deserved it. I will be paying for my bar bill, and since I have literally trolled this board for far too long. I thought I would offer a free beer to anyone who came and said, "Hey, you....person from the board. I will chat with you for a few minutes so that you're alone less time than you should be..." But thanks for making it creepy.
fireballW Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I have a lot of confidence in Stroman tonight. A lot of times these high energy guys get all pumped up but then get rocked I don't see it with him. I see him just effing with the Rangers all day.
Highandinside Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I hate to say it but I think the Jays are going to lose this series in probably 4 games possibly 5. We might have a shot at game 2 with Stroman but outside that I don't like our chances. I'm not liking the attitude around the team. Listening to AA in his interview with Brunt was sickening. The team seems just so happy with a division and they're treating it like it was their world series. I'm sorry but getting drunk and pissing away 2 meaningful games in my mind is not a good idea. AA jumping up and down like he won a world series. I think this team is too satisfied. I could care less about a division if they can't show up in the playoffs. Save the champaign and beer for something meaningful.

Wake up man, they won the division and celebrated just like every team that wins their division. This series isnt even close to over.

nextyear Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Stroman seems confident. He Tweeted after yesterday's loss: I hope Donaldson will be back today and Bautista back in full form.
puphood Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Price hits a guy twice who scores 3 times walks 2 one of which scores. I hope it is his only mediocre game and his Tampa Bay karma doesn't continue. Tor hit Gallardo 2-3 times well early that could of been out of the field on other days I also think Tex used Gallardo well when they pulled him as if not the game could have easly gone the other way. See what the bats can do against Hamels today. Want to see Donaldson and Joey in the line up today.....need Stoman to show take it to them............ Go Jays.....
CHRIS Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I also think Tex used Gallardo well when they pulled him as if not the game could have easly gone the other way. Yes, I think Texas pulling Gallardo when they did was a good move on their part. They also started the runner a couple of times in key situations that really helped them out. Texas played a good game I think, and deserved the win. In general, playoff baseball is so amazing. The impact of every play so magnified. It's amazing how a seemingly small play like Goins shading to the bag can end up having such a large impact overall. Hopefully we have everybody back today and get out of the gate a bit better this game. Go Jays!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Open that bitch up today. Stroman is from Long Island hes pitched in this weather his whole life. Crazy that no home team has led at any point in the playoffs so far.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Still hurting over yesterdays game. Gallardo was trash but jays again let him off the hook (1 swing and miss first 3-4 innings lol), 2 hit batters score.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 You've been posting this since yesterday afternoon. All Jays fans should be frustrated by yesterday's game but it's time to look ahead. Please use this thread to post content that you don't think other people have considered, so as to start new dialogue. I know man I just can;t shake the feeling losing yesterdays game was a massive blow. Hope I am wrong. Hamels has the ability to shut us down so we really need Stro.

Get over it. s*** happens.
