Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Finally, I get to go to a game where RA Dickey isn't starting! I know the feeling man. I've probably seen like 12 Dickey starts since he's been here.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Finally, I get to go to a game where RA Dickey isn't starting! Amen to that. I've seen some epic blow outs like Will Middlebrook 3 HR game for the Bosox he started. I think its the right call to go with Price and then Stro.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Gallardo game 1 is interesting. We're overdue for a good game against him. Lets go!! Smart move by them. Let's hope his luck has hit bottom.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Haven't seen Price or Stroman live yet this year, so I'm super excited to finally be seeing them both in the playoffs THIS WEEK!!! Still can't believe it
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 It's $600 or is this like the 4th time you're gonna brag about being "well-off" I can afford it too... But I'm not a moron so I won't be spending $600 on it.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I know the feeling man. I've probably seen like 12 Dickey starts since he's been here. Last game I went to was in August and yes it was Dickey against the A's. Probably 4 of the last 7 was Dickey. You'd think he starts 75 games a year.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I wonder if it's the right move having Dickey pitch in Texas rather than in the dome. Don't get me wrong... Price and Stro 1-2 is great... But Estrada and Dickey 3-4 ? I just wonder whether Dickey's quality dips in Texas more than Stroman's would if you had him go in game 3.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 rather have the two best pitchers gunning for 2-0 series lead. Ya. I'd go with Price and Stro too. Just know how much Dickey likes dome pitching. Whereas Stro can execute anywhere.

It really doesn't matter the MLB is deciding whether or not to have roof open or close so it is not as if the jays can use that to their advantage.

I don't think there's ever been a playoff game in Toronto with the dome closed... But I'm just going by memory. Regardless.... Go Jays!!
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 For those of you who are still looking for a ticket on Stubhub, I recommend you guys to buy it today or tomorrow morning. Tomorrow at 10am the ticket for ALCS goes on sale, and many people who got nothing may look for cheaper ticket for ALCS, even for ALDS. So after tomorrow at lunch, I doubt most of the cheaper tickets on Stubhub would be gone. Fortunately, I just got pair of ticket for $95 US on Stubhub

CrackerJack Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 also makes Stroman available in the unlikely event that he's needed out of the pen in game 5.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 So Stroman tweeted he is starting game 2! To me, this means that we are going with Price on short rest in game 4. Otherwise, it doesn't make a lot of sense to put Dickey in a bad situation.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Pompey should play Arizona fall or Dominican winter league
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Smart move by them. Let's hope his luck has hit bottom. Interesting. Most of seem seem to feel like we deserved better than we got against him in the two starts I watched this year. They think he owned us and matches up well. This is going to be fun. I may need to bring my own defibraltor to RC

(don't think it's that bad a situation for Dickey since he probably won't be pitching in miserable weather in Arlington.)
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Finally, I get to go to a game where RA Dickey isn't starting! Haha, same. I somehow always end up at his games.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Pompey should play Arizona fall or Dominican winter league Is it his +6 DRS vs Carrera's -6 DRS or his 5 SB vs Carrera's 2 SB that make you think he won't help us in the playoffs over Carrera as a 4th OF?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 No discussion on this yet? Looks like a mismatch. Texas' only good starter is Hamels, and he won't even likely pitch in game 1. After that it's Gallardo and Colby Lewis. Offense is pretty dangerous, but the Jays are probably going to destroy their pitching staff. I can't believe you've done this

I think he should be on the post season roster I just also think he needs reps against good pitching in the off season too

Regardless.... Go Jays!! I specifically remember it mentioned during the CBS broadcast of a Jays playoff game that had it not been for the dome, the game would not have been played that night since it was pouring rain in Toronto.

Dickey might pitch well, but Gibby certainly isn't putting his players in the best position to succeed. Price is on all of this rest though, so I think they go with him in game 4.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I think he should be on the post season roster I just also think he needs reps against good pitching in the off season too Hes playing winterball he will be fine. He belongs on the roster.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 You've got to take your chances with Loup. There's just too many lefties to leave it all to Cecil. Besides, I don't want to burn Cecil in a medium leverage situation, I'd want to save him for "H*ly sh*t God help us!" situations. You know there will be a few of those.
