BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Big start for the team and for Price in the CY today. Going to come down to the final week....for the Div and the CY.
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Today is the day that David Price is gonna win the CY. Gonna be a great day, boys and girls. Enjoy it.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I don't think so. It's his last start in the regular season as a jag
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Keuchel has to be the clear favourite right now, with one start left for each.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Keuchel has to be the clear favourite right now, with one start left for each. Why?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Why? Cause BTS owns him in DDL
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Why? Equal ERA, much better xFIP, more innings, more wins. Better pitcher.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Equal ERA, much better xFIP, more innings, more wins. Better pitcher. doze wins!
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Equal ERA, much better xFIP, more innings, more wins. Better pitcher. highly questionable
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 doze wins! It could matter if he gets to 20, because Price won't.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Equal ERA, much better xFIP, more innings, more wins. Better pitcher. I caught this.

Slot Machine Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Bit of a noob question but why is Keuchel's xfip lower than Price's, is it because Keuchel's fly ball rates are lower?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Cy Young- Price MVP-Donaldson Gold Glove - K. Pillar Silver Slugger - Toronto Blue Jays

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Bit of a noob question but why is Keuchel's xfip lower than Price's, is it because Keuchel's fly ball rates are lower? Yeah. FIP counts HRs and xFIP counts GB rate.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Cause BTS owns him in DDL lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Keuchel has it won now. s***** defense f***ed Price. He would have to be digusting in his last start and Keuchel would have to be pretty bad. I think there's still a decent chance the voters choose Price, though it will probably be Keuchel. If Keuchel wins his next start to get to 20 it's over.

Mozzer Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I don't think 20 wins is the determining factor here. Sure it stands out, but what Price has done since arriving in Toronto is pretty damn impressive. That 2 hitter vs the yanks last week was the biggest games pitched in this city in 20 years and he was outstanding from day one. I'm biased, but I take Price regardless of what happens this next week.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I wonder how much it will matter if Houston misses the postseason?

Houston is currently in a WC spot and without him they're well under 0.500 and have been out of the race for a long time.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I'm not sure how anyone could think Keuchel has the edge right now. Why, because he has one extra pitcher win? LOL. Price has him in ERA, Ks, BB rate, FIP, and WAR, and plays for a much higher profile team. This is Price's to lose at the moment, and I don't think it even matters if Keuchel gets to 20 W.

Price has a 1-point lead in ERA-, Keuchel has a 13-point lead in xFIP-. Nobody should care about FIP. Keuchel also has a small edge in IP. Objectively, he's had the better year. If he wins 20 and the Astros make it I think it's his.

It's only expected homeruns? lol
