Equal ERA, much better xFIP, more innings, more wins. Better pitcher.

I caught this.

Bit of a noob question but why is Keuchel's xfip lower than Price's, is it because Keuchel's fly ball rates are lower?

his flyball to homerun rate is pretty normal, where as Price's rate is way below average

Yeah. FIP counts HRs and xFIP counts GB rate.

Keuchel has it won now. s***** defense f***ed Price. He would have to be digusting in his last start and Keuchel would have to be pretty bad.

I think there's still a decent chance the voters choose Price, though it will probably be Keuchel. If Keuchel wins his next start to get to 20 it's over.

I don't think 20 wins is the determining factor here. Sure it stands out, but what Price has done since arriving in Toronto is pretty damn impressive. That 2 hitter vs the yanks last week was the biggest games pitched in this city in 20 years and he was outstanding from day one. I'm biased, but I take Price regardless of what happens this next week.

I agree. It's a close race but all things considered I think price wins this.

Keuchel has been doing it all year too though. Houston is currently in a WC spot and without him they're well under 0.500 and have been out of the race for a long time.

I'm not sure how anyone could think Keuchel has the edge right now. Why, because he has one extra pitcher win? LOL. Price has him in ERA, Ks, BB rate, FIP, and WAR, and plays for a much higher profile team. This is Price's to lose at the moment, and I don't think it even matters if Keuchel gets to 20 W.

Price has a 1-point lead in ERA-, Keuchel has a 13-point lead in xFIP-. Nobody should care about FIP. Keuchel also has a small edge in IP. Objectively, he's had the better year. If he wins 20 and the Astros make it I think it's his.

Why? Because giving up homeruns doesn't matter? It's only expected homeruns? lol
