Baseball Player Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Those rules are only to determine home field advantage. Ties for division or wild card play a head to head game prior to the wild card game. So if we ended up Tied with Yankees at the end of the season the one game playoff would be held in our stadium because we had the better head to head record?

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 LOL poor Oakland. One loss left from sealing the deal in last place. It gets you thinking how much of an accomplishment 90+ wins in the AL is this year. One bad team and then no others are more than 10 games under .500. The Cardinals and Pirates might be killing it this year but they are doing it against a lot of bad teams.

Some decent nostalgia in that video. California Angels, Fenway without the monster seats, Buck Martinez 25 years younger with a stache... lol

Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Jays magic number to clinch home field is 4. After today it could be down to 1... with 4 games to go. We could do some serious damage today if everything goes right.

(you could not use that in today's overly PC world LOL) Also, suck it Clemens

I hope it comes down to the ninth inning, up 1, bases loaded for the O's, 3-2 count, and have it end on a called strike a foot out of the zone. Just to have Showalter go nuts as we celebrate all around him.

Leafs2726 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Why bring up Diaz? Don't we have enough IF? Kawasaki on the bench, cliff, goins, Donaldson, smoak, cola. I'm assuming he would only play in game2 if we win the first game? Giving Donaldson the second game off?

I'm assuming he would only play in game2 if we win the first game? Giving Donaldson the second game off? If the first game is a win I'd make the second game a full-on B-squad game. I realize the chase for first seed is important, but I think in this case the concession might be worthwhile for health and fatigue reasons.
Leafs2726 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I'm taking a wild guess but I think we win the second game. Would be too weird to celebrate a great! Accomplishment in between a double header.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 It'll definitely be strange if the Jays win game #1 though a likely 1 drink wonder Kawasaki would definitely be the highlight of Game #2.
