Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Thats a smart strategy. If you get a group of people and split the costs, it works out to be a lot cheaper than buying individual tickets. You'd have your own room, own alcohol, and washroom. Probably is worth it. I guess you're there for the party - but if I'm sitting 500 level, I'm doing so solely for the atmosphere (view is awful). If you're in a hotel room, the view is awful and you're likely watching the game on TV a lot.......do you even get the atmosphere through the glass????

You can open the top parts of the windows I believe. Though yeah I'm just saying I'd rather watch the game from the hotel instead of spending a lot on nosebleeds in the 500s. Similar views, own private room and could bring your own food and alcohol. If a group of 5-6 people are willing to spend $200 USD each for crappy seats all the way up in the 500s, then you'd be better off just splitting the room. Obviously I'd prefer to watch the game from somewhere in the 100 or 200 level, or lower part of the 500 level around the infield.

Hookers are not allowed in your nosebleed seats either, so that's another added bonus...

I got 2 tickets for all the home games a few weeks back, I will probably go to all of them or if work conflicts I might sell 1 game.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Congratulations! Thx....just sold a second pair of 500s for $210 us each...woo. I originally had em listed higher but figured if I made mine some of the lowest in my section they would sell fast

Pretty much have to pay 1000$+ Canadian for a pair to have a decent seat or 500+ to sit in the upper deck. And the upper deck is pretty terrible views I find you can see better on tv. Pretty bummed i couldn't get any today, guess I'm watching from home

I was Section 114 Row 2 last night and almost every pitch looks like a strike from there...
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 The wife and i originally thought we would sell a pair or two off our strips...after the worry about the credit card subsided we came to our senses. There is no f***ing way we will miss a single second of the magix that is Jays home playoff race/post season games. We waited too long, sat through too many 3/4 empty Rogers Centre games and invested too much emotion to part with our tix. Every game the last month and a half have been amazing...the yankee series off the charts...cant wait for TB fri thru sun, will be there basking in Jay Fever baby! Good luck buying or selling whatever the situation.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Went to the game tonight and purchased a single ticket in the 500 level for $15 USD off StubHub around 7 PM, when most of the tickets in the 500s were listed at $30-$40 during the day. From what I saw, ticket prices were dropping drastically as you got closer to first pitch. The average price for a 500 level seat around 6:30 was still in high 20's, low 30's. Around 7 PM, I was seeing so many listings below $20, and I'm sure many tickets in the 100 level were dropping as well. If you can be patient and wait it out until the last minute, then you can scoop up seats close to face value or cheaper for the remaining regular season games. My close friend lives near the Rogers Centre, so I was able to get my tickets printed easily right after I bought them. There is the possibility that you could end up with nothing, yes. For the postseason, tickets will be higher than face value obviously, though for the prices people are listing 500's right now or any other seats, the prices will drop I'm sure closer to first pitch if those same people haven't moved their seats yet. I told you brah, same thing in the PS.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 If you pick up your tickets, do you have to do it at Rogers Centre? Will call, yes.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Should I sell now or later? Now.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Thx....just sold a second pair of 500s for $210 us each...woo. I originally had em listed higher but figured if I made mine some of the lowest in my section they would sell fast Yup. I'm sure if you make your seats the lowest in that section or out of the entire 500s period, like in the upper $100s or lower $200s, some people will budge since thats the best price they see right now. Like burnlingtonbandit said, this is probably the worst time to buy though it probably is the best time to sell if you list your tickets at a reasonable price in comparison to some of the other high ridiculous prices, since I'm sure most people who didn't get tickets are panicking to get their hands on anything. If you make your pair standout from the hundreds of other tickets listed, I'm sure you can sell them right now and get great markup. Still, as the date gets closer and many of those 500 level seats that are listed above $300 don't move, they will be dropping and I'm sure they will be dropping close to what your tickets went for today, probably even less. You took advantage of all the hype today from postseason tickets going on sale from panicking fans who saw what they thought was the best deal on StubHub at the time. Applause.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 113 A and 130 A. Oh dude, now if you aren't going, you'll make a killing.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I think with cheap tickets you could continue to wait. People will pay a ton just to get in the building the day before, I think the hype has exceeded expectations by a lot and will continue. Wrong!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Now. This is the best time to sell. Every 6 PM news is talking about how Blue Jays postseason tickets went on sale today, how their were 70,000 queued online at 10 AM and how many people ended up disappointed. Even Sportsnet 360 on their commercial updates are stating this. I'm sure many fans who didn't get seats today are panicking and will likely hit the button on what are the best priced tickets on Stubhub (which are still quite high). If you're a seller, I'd list your tickets below what everyone else is listing their tickets at because I'm sure someone will go online and think "wow this is an amazing deal" and purchase them. If you list your tickets at a high, yet what seems reasonable price in comparison to the other tickets on the market, you can take advantage.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) That's the dealbreaker Doesn't mean you can't go up to the bar and drink, I'd line up 3 hrs early, lol. If you get the barzone rail seats, you're golden. Edited September 24, 2015 by Spanky99

Lil Looper Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Being away for university makes it difficult to get any tickets/have time to enjoy them. Im really jealous, ill be watching from my computer in London! At least next year Ill probably be doing a masters program in Toronto so if there is a repeat appearance Ill def go! Also congrats to those making money off the system, nothing wrong with some more change in our pockets
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 So jealous of you who got the postseason ticket I think I may just have to go alone for ALCS ticket sale.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Personally, I wouldn't sell my seats, it's too electric to. I went back in 92 and it was back hair raising. I was 19 at the time and will never forget it, so awesome.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Wrong! You don't know this and neither do I, I am just making an educated guess. There's not a whole lot to compare this situation before. I'd like to believe you're some ticket market expert, but I do not think you are.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Just saw two 500's going for 135 they were gone in two seconds Some guy had his 130A listed for 175 each so I bought them put them right back up and they sold for 325. made a couple hundred bucks and barely did anything lol.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 This is like watching the stock market...specifically comodities and futures... For tickets that technically dont even exist.
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Oh dude, now if you aren't going, you'll make a killing. Will not be going to every game. 1 game per series probably
