I did check the view of the seats using those apps, but they don't really give you much perspective. You can't really tell from the image whether the jumbotron is visible. I am guessing it must be at least somewhat visible, since other tickets for sale had an explicit warning about not being able to see it (whereas these didn't) but I'm wondering if it's a real neck strain. My big concern is that what's happening at home plate will be hard to follow, and with the jumbotron out of sight or difficult to see, we'll have no way of even following what's happening. But having never sat at seats like that, I have no idea how it will be in real life. The virtual images don't really give real perspective.

In answer to your question, I paid about $350 USD on Stub Hub per ticket. Keep in mind these are Row 1 tickets. If I had wanted anything like the seats I usually get in 118/119 I believe those would have been minimum $600 USD ++ per ticket.

I'm just hoping I didn't make a mistake. For that price, I probably could have gotten something in the middle to back row of 113 on the first base side, but I thought it would be super cool to be front row for a change and maybe come close to a home run ball. I'm just worried I'll need to use my smart phone to keep track of the game if I can't see anything happening at home plate and the jumbotron is difficult or impossible to see.

Still super excited about the game, but wondering if I made a poor choice of the ticket for the money I spent.

The view of the game is pretty good from outfield seats, you should have no problem seeing everything. Also, I would bet you can't see the jumbotron, but eh it really shouldn't be something to regret getting the seats for.

You'll have a great time. Row 1 seats in the outfield are a different experience altogether from where you're used to sitting (and not in a bad way). Also from that section you'll be amazed at how well you can gauge pitches and whether they are balls or strikes. You'll also be able to see into the visitors bullpen to your left when you're sitting there, and hopefully you hear some good heckling of the visitors relievers and outfielders (you're guaranteed to hear heckling, whether it's actually good is the question!)

Thanks SirBJay.

I am totally stoked for this game.

I was betrayed in 1994 as an Expos fan. This is my redemption!!! GO JAYS GO!

The view from TV is better than any seat in the house if you want to "watch" the game. It's all about the atmosphere when you go to the game and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed for Game 1 of the ALDS. Don't overthink this one man...

Dude i've been sitting in the outfield seats for like 4 years now (10 game flex packs) and they're great. Way better than baseline seats IMO. Only thing that beats outfield is behind homeplate.

I was in the 200 level outfields in LF for Sunday's game. There's nothing like Donaldson hitting a walk-off homerun right into your section :)

Not on Sportsnet. I don't have enough fingers to count the amount of times they have missed plays because they were too busy showing a replay, the wrong camera, or a bad angle. It happens multiple times a game, its bush league

Agreed on the level 100 baselines, they are highly overrated to me anyway. It seems like every time I go there my view is obstructed by a tall person and even then the view isn't that great.. Front row level 200 anywhere between 1st and 3rd are the most enjoyable seats imo. They got the comfier seats, tons of leg room and the best view of the game.

There's no rush to lower prices to make sure you sell them immediately IMO. There are 3,500 tickets left for game 1 and we're 10 days away from the game. For most of the September and late August games there was well over 3,500 tickets with that much time remaining, many with that supply with only a couple days to go. Obviously the demand for playoffs will be much higher. Many people haven't solidified their plans to attend yet as they want the date and time to be officially announced. People with tickets to sell aren't going to be forced to drop prices drastically the day of unless they are setting their prices sky high to start. Of course the flip side is that tickets are selling at a nice premium so it's hard to be upset if you sell them now, but you don't need to rush to make sure you're the lowest price available.

For buying tickets, is Stubhub the best online option? Or are there some sites that are better/comparable?

http://www.tickpick.com is well liked by some people. Vivid Seats as well. For the most part Stubhub wins out simply because their selection is the best and their service in terms of buyer protection is solid.

I would add to that, once they know the opponent the demand increases. If they end up playing the Yankees the demand will increase immensely

That's what I'm hoping for when theirs no more"magic number" for the division title. 400$ per ticket is the market value for my tickets in the 130A and 113 A atm imo.

Yankees would boast it a lot for sure!

I don't see why it should matter WHO they're playing, but you're probably right.

If it's the Yankees you'll get people travelling in from NY to watch, easy Porter flight from there. And obviously New Yorkers have the cash.

I think game time is the biggest factor for waiting to sell. I think most casual fans will just assume the game is going to be in the evening when unless they are playing the yankees it will probably be the earliest game of the day.

if I were buying tickets I'd buy the day that flex pack/season ticket holders get the tickets in their account manager.

That's actually a decent point, there are certainly people waiting to list their tickets until they actually have access to them.

opposing teams fans want tickets too. Lot more Yankee fans around here than Rangers/Astros/Angels combined

Could also bite you in the ass. If they announce the game is at 3PM there is going to be a ton of people who won't be able to go to the game and it will turn into a buyer's market. The 500 level tickets might not see a huge drop, but the premium seats will lower in price drastically as those are the people with the big jobs that won't be able to get work off.

Overall demand will be slightly less for an afternoon game (will be 4 or 5, not 3. Think last year was at 5pm). Will likely shift some people to Friday's game. But not enough to put a big dent on ticket prices. People who want to go will find a way. Reality is that the high income earners likely have more flexibility and could rather easily attend an earlier game. For some it makes it easier to take clients out and expense it (similar to 2:20 games in Chicago on Fridays).

Games were at 12:30 and 3:30 last year
