I have an account just for reading things, they don't really give a s*** about the Jays and for the most part they still consider themselves the underdogs or at least like the title of it.

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Ahh. Thx. I just did a Google search and it came up. Just seemed like their threads weren't as active as here It appears that way because they, like most baseball forums, dilute their content across multiple sub forums which force people to look all over the place for active threads. I really like this forum's set up to just keep everything baseball related under one roof. Unless you have 1000 active members at a time, it's just a pain the ass for everyone and harder for mods to do their job too.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I have a feeling we go 1-2 this series. Hope I'm wrong!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I have a feeling we go 1-2 this series. Hope I'm wrong! this is a statement series for both teams. If either team can sweep it's a big demoralizer for the loser, but which ever team wins scares the other team a little. Jays have been playing good and need to keep it rolling into NY. Edwing has been going off for 2 weeks and we could really use a 2 month run of Ed and his parrot
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Yeah, this seems like a let down series. Hope I'm wrong. Really wish we could play all 52 remaining games at home. We'd probably go something like 40-12.
93 Jays Verified Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The thing for me is that I keep forgetting how potent our lineup actually is. The addition of Tulo makes our top 5 one of the scariest lineups in baseball history. I think the Jays go 2-1, but a lot hinges on the Dickey start tonight. As it goes nowadays, if our guys hold the other team under 5 runs and Gibby doesn't mismanage the pen, these guys are a serious threat to score 5 or more every single game. If we win tonight, I think 2 of 3 is a pretty good bet

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 If Gibby lets Loup face ARod or RHH, I will lose it. BTW, is McCann out tonight?
jays76 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Exactly. There's no urgency to scoreboard watch (from the team's perspective). They still control their own fate. 13 games against the Yankees...if they execute and take care of their own business, they can write their own ticket. Game 1 of 13 tonight and I'm nervous as f***!

If gibby lets Loup face Buck Martinez for batting practice fun, I'll lose my s***. Loup has lost it this year, especially in close games. I think his time here is coming to an end very soon

LTR Verified Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Imagine where we would be if he hadn't blown those games. Honestly he's the reason we lost a lot of those 1-run games.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Why do I have a hunch that the umps will be favourable to the Yanks and it'l ruin the series? Do you guys remember our few series last year that were an awful display of umpiring?

CrackerJack Verified Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Without Loup and Gibbons, We are in first place with each win, Gibbons moves one step closer to returning as skipper ... enjoy the bittersweet ride!

Anyhow, this is going to be a great watch regardless. GO JAYS GO!

On top of that, R.A has started off slow the past few seasons and finished up really strong. If you look at his starts the past few years, past the all star break he's kept his team in just about every game. He's a competitor and I think he'd be the first to tell you he's disappointed in how things have gone thus far. I don't mind having him on the mound in a game to start off a series like this. I have loads of faith in him with the way he's pitched lately and if he does s*** the bed? It won't be for a lack of heart, that's for sure.
