KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Oh no It's worse. It must be Pompey Only way losing Pompey works is if Cespedes is coming back. Otherwise LF will be to this team what 2B was to the previous "all-in" push.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Labourt is a lottery ticket and Boyd is serviceable but Norris is way too much

nmrch Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 no Alford is a little easy to swallow but Norris but for 11 Price starts is still hard to accept
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Oh f***. I guess being late for an appointment is a good thing so I can see the news but I'm f***ing scared at the cost. (Sorry, I haven't read through the entire thread but have seen Norris is going along with two others). I hope the Jays can either flip him by the August waiver deadline if they're out of it or can sign him to an extension. I don't see AA giving up the farm for a rental especially since he keeps going on about control. The Jays would have time to work out a potential extension but I hope it's a condition of the deal or they can make him an offer (they seem to like giving out $20M/year deals or taking them on which would basically replace MB's contract) that he doesn't reject. With the offense behind him he might think twice especially if the Jays can make a push for the post season and get in. It seems like a desperation move. Maybe when the dust settles it'll make more sense.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 We still have Stroman and Sanchez. Thor, Hoffman, Norris and Boyd for Tulo and Price. I will take it. Lots of money off the books next for free agents. Alford still a Jay. It's been a great week.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Labourt is a reliever so not worth much, Boyd has decent stuff that will work better in Cumerica Park because hes a flyball pitcher and Norris is very risky but you gotta give to receive
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm just gonna guess, Norris, Urena, .... SRF
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Apparently, it's Norris, Boyd and Labourt. everytime I hear Jairo Labourt said I hear "high roller whore"
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Ok, now I'm very happy with this deal. f*** yeahhhhhh BOIIII
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Really holy s***. Thats not even that bad. It is pretty bad giving up Norris for 11 starts of another pitcher but... maybe worth the try. Playoffs could really help the organizational at this point.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Someone create a poll thread similar to the Tulo one please

Playoffs could really help the organizational at this point. Norris stock was falling, not rising. Ineffectiveness, walk rate and concern on dropping velocity. I have no problems.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Apparently, it's Norris, Boyd and Labourt. If thats all it is I still don't like the deal. ....but I don't hate his as much
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why wouldn't you want an extension? Hilarious that you would call one "franchise crippling" without knowing the numbers or what our future payroll looks like. He's going to get $200+M. Mega contracts for 30+ year old pitchers are about the single most reckless and stupid thing a team can do.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Isn't it just Norris for Price We all saw what the Redsox did to that tundler stuff Boyd is throwing nothing loss there
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Syndergaard wasn't part of the tulo trade. I meant we moved those pitching pieces.
McDude Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 if someone like estrada goes down...do we have any SP depth??
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Stop talking about the 13 games left with the Yankees being the motivation of this deal. Price can only pitch 3 of those maximum.

Payroll doesn't matter but s***** pitching at 34 while paying him 30+ million is ludicrous. These guys don't get it
