flafson Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Looks like Nationals are about to get Papelbon.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 And you should be leading the short bus given your intellect but things don't always work out as they should. Okay thanks bud. Hope we can be friends in the future
flafson Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Don't we have to make a move for tonight's game? It looks like Hawkins is in the lineup. Isn't Tulo on the 25 men yet?
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Okay thanks bud. Hope we can be friends in the future Robert you deserve more respect around here

Tulo is not active yet but Hawkins is. Hawkins took Reyes spot on the 25 man. A move will have to be made tomorrow for Tulo
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If the one game wild card counts as the playoffs, then Dickey is right. The Jays should make it and there's no excuse not to. Everyone vying for the 2WC is mediocre.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 AA sure does the unpredictable. This trade is for naught if the pitching is not improved. Not gonna be surprised if Bautista is moved to Cards for pitcher(s) under control. If not that, then prospects for pitching... ugh

canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I like the move. Prospects are prospects we didn't get a rental player here or a decent #3 starter, he is the best SS in the league ( others are creeping up now ). Interesting to hear the names that were " offered " for Tulo...DeGrom? etc I look forward to see what value the Rockies can get for Reyes if they do manage to move him... All around good deal. P.S Hawkins underrated in this deal...young BP meet veteran leader.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin to the Cardinals makes more sense That makes more sense agreed and unlikely Edwin vetoes an almost guaranteed trip to playoffs.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin to the Cardinals makes more sense it does, except the return would be relatively meh

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Not trading Bats this year don't be ridiculous. Bats for controllable pitching is actually the right move This is Donaldson, Martin, Tulo team now
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Leaving a gaping hole in the outfield isn't a good move either.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Leaving a gaping hole in the outfield isn't a good move either. Promote Pompey, but yes, would need Saunders back or someone better than Carrera/Portobello

But hopefully we land an ace for just prospects and he won't be gone this year.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Farrell on Tulowitzki trade: “It seems now they’ve got six middle of the order bats.”
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Donaldson: "It was an unexpected trade for us. I definitely think it sends a message. Our goal the entire yr has been to win the division."
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Bats didn't sound happy with the deal
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Leaving a gaping hole in the outfield isn't a good move either. You could presumably bring back a major league outfield bat with the pitching depth that he would command. Bats didn't sound happy with the deal Best part of these moves is Jose's influence is diminishing as his clique is less important to the teams success.
bill Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 In all seriousness this team should be leading the ALE based on talent But strangely they are only .500. Why are the Yankees pulling away in the East?
bill Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Josh Donaldson and Coco Cordero No that's blue jays great Cliff JOhnson
baloojayz Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Best part of these moves is Jose's influence is diminishing as his clique is less important to the teams success. Why does that matter at all?
Statman Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Bats didn't sound happy with the deal Winning the world series of celebrations over acquiring a 5+ WAR player.
Statman Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reyes out. Tulowitzki in. Go White Jays! Donaldson and Tulo for the win!
