Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Deal done. Tulo and Hawkins for Reyes, Castro, Hoffman and Tinoco Castro isn't big deal, Hoffman overrated and Reyes suck
Morrissey Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Deal done. Tulo and Hawkins for Reyes, Castro, Hoffman and Tinoco Castro isn't big deal, Hoffman overrated and Reyes suck that's the blue homer way of looking at it.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I guess that means Travis is our leadoff guy from now on. Do you they think they can fix Tulo's hitting though? He has been bad this year, 6.9% BB and 20.9% K...
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Love waking up to all the WTF texts, now let them pour in on here lol
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 What was the leadoff #s for Travis when he was there for a bit?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) On holiday in NS and woke up to this in disbelief this am. Something else must be in the works for pitching although old man Hawkins is still useful. Still seems odd to move Castro/Hoffman and only gain Hawkins arm given this teams weakness. AA doesn't appear to be giving up on 2015. If Tulo is healthy this line up becomes unworldly and major D upgrade. 2 injury plagued SS's but one much better than the other. Castro and Hoffman sting but can live with it. Edited July 28, 2015 by BigCecil
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 looked up Latroy Hawkins on FG and the dude throws avg velo of 93 and is over 42 years old, thats crazy even if Coors boosts it a little.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 glad Reyes and his albatross contract is out the door...... too bad it couldnt be norris instead of hoff and castro
nonamejays Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I would have to expect that some of the other prospects and maybe EE might go for a pair of pitchers. EE + something for Average starter #1 Prospects for Average starter #2
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 glad Reyes and his albatross contract is out the door...... too bad it couldnt be norris instead of hoff and castro Jesus, Norris is better and younger.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm gonna miss Jose Reyes, genuinely good guy who had to deal with a lot of stupidity
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm sure this has been mentioned already but Tulo has 3rd best OPS among SSs on the road, it's not just Coors, he's a stud.
labadee Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They will probably trade Tulo for pitching. More to come. who do you expect to play ss?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm gonna miss Jose Reyes, genuinely good guy who had to deal with a lot of stupidity Agree. The contract he signed wasn't his fault(baseball is a business) and I thought he always played hard and as well as he could.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm not sure how I feel about this trade
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Jerry woke up smiling this morning.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm not sure how I feel about this trade Probably the best answer in this thread
flafson Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Didn't you say yesterday that you would do Reyes for Kimbrel in a heartbeat? This one is kinda close.
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Still think Castro is the one that will really hurt. He looked great to me despite results. Expect him to be a stud. Despite that I am excited for the deal. Would be cool is we could deal EE for something useful and then get some aging decent hitter for cheap on a rental for the rest of the year to DH.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Jonah gets it. WAR doesn't really tell the whole story with how bad Reyes has been defensively.
Smokey Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Wow just woke up and my mind is blown... Can't say I'm disappointed to see Reyes go but I'm still waiting for the doughboy to make a mid season move that actually addresses a need. I know a win is a win is a win but I'd have at least used the prospects to upgrade the rotation first. It kinda smells like this FO is planning on going out with a bang and the prospect lovers should be scared.
nextyear Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I was looking forward to the 2015 NFL season since I thought this season was over for the Blue Jays. This trade will make watching the Blue Jays interesting again.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm not sure how I feel about this trade "Herpderp"?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Not that I thought otherwise, but this makes Edwin trade bait this off season if he isn't already.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin still has to approve any trade, its not that easy.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin still has to approve any trade, its not that easy. Uh, really? He has a no-trade clause? I didn't even know. I should have, but didn't. Okay then.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Uh, really? He has a no-trade clause? I didn't even know. I should have, but didn't. Okay then. 10 years in league, 5 with same team. Gives you the powah
