RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Gibby is a very good player's manager so I m not surprised He is just not a good in game strategist
CrackerJack Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Favourite manager for other manager's to play against. Gibby makes it tough for them to lose! yup, along with Bochy, Maddon, Francona & Showalter . . .

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Navarro batting 4th, and DH vs Archer Truly absurd Just you wait when he unloads the bases today
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Navarro batting 4th, and DH vs Archer Truly absurd Glad someone brought this thread back up. Does anyone actually think Gibby will be managing this team next season?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Glad someone brought this thread back up. Does anyone actually think Gibby will be managing this team next season? I do. You guys really need to understand that being a manager isn't only about what moves he makes. We're not John Madden's Tampa rays where we need micro management to win games. If the players all show up we win. No extra management needed. However we need a strong personality that's likeable and respected in the dressing room to keep all the egos in check. Because if that doesn't happen and there's conflicts in the dressing room, I doubt where even 5 games over .500. You guys think Bannister is a better manager than Francona? Of course not but his team has had a better record than him. Because the firepower of the Rangers is better and Bannister seems to be loved in the dugout. We also seen the other side when Valintine took over the Sox and ran them into the ground. They were a great team on paper but people hated the atmosphere and coming to the park that they didn't preform. THATS what Gibby brings to the table And do you guys actually think that with the new regime that they'd keep someone if they are underperforming? They just fired the entire scouting department basically and parts of the minor league development team. They arent scared to make moves. They wouldn't risk firing gibbons if it wasn't worth it to keep him
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Guy is a f***ing bafoon. If we don't win the division or the wild card it's BC we had this f***ing clown managing. We should have a 3-4 game lead right now I can't even remember all the games the clown cost us this year Horrible manager
Cyborg Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Today's lineup with this season wRC+ 113 161 137 58 (DH) 105 103 128 79 107 Bench Options 95 87 86 Fireable offence if you ask me. Just plain stupidity.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Glad someone brought this thread back up. Does anyone actually think Gibby will be managing this team next season? It will be a different team next year maybe below .500
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 This thread being bumped up is a thing of beauty. Why Atkins hasn't stepped in and stopped this ******** is insane. The Jays are tied for first and they are letting this stupid Redneck cost the team runs on a daily basis.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Gibby isn't even good enough for 1B coach.
candymartinez Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 It will be a different team next year maybe below .500 No reason to think that. Quit trolling.
flafson Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Chubby did a pretty good job today.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Chubby did a pretty good job today. Sure still pretty stupid to have him DH and hit cleanup.

flafson Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I don't know why you guys are making such a big deal out of it, Navarro has .976 OPS against Archer. As a team, the Jays have a .585 OPS average against Archer. Obviously it's a small sample but it's still 22 AB's.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Credit for pulling Happ today?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 Credit for pulling Happ today? Was it 80 or 85 pitches in like 2 1/3 innings. That had to be done no matter the manager.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby leading the world in ejections. lol
flafson Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby leading the world in ejections. lol Shatkins said the best thing about Gibby is his veterans management skills, I guess it involves standing up for your players and getting ejected. All part of the job.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Now if only he could get ejected before he submits his lineup.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Fire Gibbons for not using Britto.... wait

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Imagine if it was Gibby We'd be burning him at the stake
admin Site Manager Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Imagine if it was Gibby We'd be burning him at the stake That's what I said yesterday. And rightfully so. I just posted in the Buck thread, but Gibbons did a great job managing the bullpen. So much so I wonder if someone else was helping with the decision. Gibbons was probably the one that wanted Stroman, and Shatkins probably agreed if only he's on a small leash and take him out when they say.
