We will for sure see Tanaka and Pineda. Possibly Severino.

Uh.. no. Tanaka and Pineda are scheduled vs. the Mets. Yanks lack any depth to push them back, and they already need to use Warren on Tuesday due to the rainout. Stop thinking the Yanks will use Tanaka or Pineda in the Jays series.. especially considering they're facing the Mets, a contending team.

And to end this Tanaka/Pineda speculation for the Jays series, here's the rotation for the Yankees in the next few series:

Rays: Sabathia/Warren/TBA(likely Severino)

Off day 9/17

Mets: Nova/Pineda/Tanaka

Jays: Sabathia/Severino/Nova (with Warren possible in one of the games)

They have to stay on turn, especially considering the rotation is screwed up after the double-header. Plus, Warren may be needed in the Mets series in relief, especially considering how tough the Mets are.

Nova might also get skipped after his crappy performance too..

Actually, I thought the Yankees played Tuesday-Thursday so they'd use Pineda on Thursday. So we'll see Pineda most likely. I am wrong. You are right. Congratulations.

Oops my mistake.. it should be Sabathia/Severino/Pineda. However, it's possible Warren pitches ones of those games, depending on what happens.. And the Mets series is Pineda/Nova/Tanaka.

Yes he's right, worst colour guy of all-time.

Yeah we'll see Pineda which is alright and Price should go on the Monday (I got tix!) and Stroman on the 23rd. It's more just missing Tanaka, he's owned us the last two times. Just by watching, it seems like the Jays are more of a fastball hitting team than most, so he doesn't match up great in addition to being their best pitcher.

Did they announce when Stroman is starting next? Most likely Friday vs the Red Sox or Saturday?

I'm guessing Friday vs the Red Sox, but Gibbons mentioned they will make it known Tuesday.

It's amazing that Cecil's season turned around immediately after people starting worrying about him and calling for a shakeup. It's almost as if he was good all along...

Shades of 2013 Cecil. Watching him pitch has been awesome. His curve has been like Betances slider in the sense that...

Hitters know its coming. Its usually a ball they just cannot lay off or square up. And if they sit on the curve he spots a FB 90-94 on the corners or elavates with it.

Yankees 20 games left 8 home, 12 away average winning percentage of opponents .5085

Jays 19 games left 9 home, 10 away average winning percentage of opponents .4795

current magic number is 17 for division (13 for wild card)

Good stuff. Still a long way to go, but holy f*** is this exciting.

The BP is dominant now. Osuna and Cecil are basically locks for a clean innings. Hard to believe that the BP was one of the team's biggest weaknesses going in to June.

add Lowe to that

It's very easy to believe that it was such a weakness, since this is the nature of bullpens. They appear to be huge strengths and huge weaknesses at different times in the same season for many teams, but the underlying talent doesn't change much and is very similar across the league. This Blue Jays bullpen looks good but it's far from bulletproof.

Very true but this BP is incredibly deep; helping to mitigate any blips that may pop up. Cecil and Osuna are great backend guys but if they falter they have Sanchez, Lowe, Hawkins, Delabar and others to back them up.

That's a huge strength for September and hopefully the post season.

Delabar should not be included in that group lol

to me I include Hendricks but drop Hawkins from that list. The bullpen is 5 deep. After that, you have the question marks who are getting hit hard way too much lately - Hawkins, Tepera, Schultz, Loup and Delebar. Then you have also rans who can mop up - Francis & Jenkins

Speaking of which, I wouldn't mind seeing him come back next year

His stuff is good enough, but there are so many instances where relievers just implode out of nowhere.

Joakima Soria 2014 2nd half, 2015 Loup, e.t.c.
