Forgot to say: been following MLB since you were probably wearing pampers dude, so take it easyy with the dissing.

However I stopped following from 2010 to 2012, which explains why I didn't know about him.

Congrats on.... being old?

Do they pull the infield in? Prbably not - so maybe Colabello scores on the groundout

Or maybe Martin crushes one over the wall and we wouldn't be discussing this?

That would have been nice, but I wish we would fire Gibby. What's the worst that could happen?

Seriously, enough with the "coulda, shoulda, woulda". Martin f***ed up, end of story.

You can't blame Gibby, you can't blame Martin... You blame variance and say s*** happens, end of story.

Nothing Gibby did in the 7th made any sense

It's an 81 win team... so in the 3 year window variance will range between 75 and 85.... the expectations are 90... so it is a recipe for great frustration.

I don't know if we can blame variance. Blame the people who made an 81 win team and marketed it as a contender...

With an 81 win team you are relying on EVERYTHING going right, to luck out at 90 wins.. as soon as one thing goes wrong, or a few things it's season over in May...

In the end you blame Beeston. Ultimately he is the idiot who led the culture that led to this mess.

Yeah can't blame Gibby but I can blame Martin in this case. Obviously it's not easy to get a ball to the outfield vs Zimmerman but he needed to get the job done.

It's an 81 win team... nobody can change that... at this point it is a 77 win team... cause they are allready 7 under.

The frustration with Gibby is misdirected... everything Gibby does is magnified because they only way the Jays can win this year is if everything goes absolutely right here on in...

And it won't... but don't blame Gibby.

People always want the manager fired because they can't fire the players. It's the default setting of people who call in to sports talk radio, and of those who comment on Toronto Sun articles.

He's had two full seasons now and we consistently drop close games, we could fire Gibby and be worse. But there's nothing to lose by firing him and maybe there's a reason Gibby was managing in AA.

You're right. It's the easiest "big change" to make.

I personally don't think he's the problem... but it's tiring... lets get it over with. Cito?? Dusty Baker??

Who do we grab?? Who is old... and Beeston will like??

77 wins? Not 78? Not 76? You must be the smartest man alive to be able to compute and project exactly their wins.

That's what I was thinking... trying to remember who the good managers in the 80s and if they are still around. Sparky Anderson... no he died a few years ago.

At this point, nobody knows who or how many wins it's going to take to win the AL East, as everyone except the Yankees is at or below .500, and the Yanks are playing over their head.

OK. I'll humour you. People always say s*** like this. 81 win team. 85 win team.

AA sells the farm in 2013 people would say "I think he just built a 95 win team"...

then some other guy will say "No this is not as good as you think... AA just built an 85 win team that will not be good enough and frustrate you."

People talk like this all the time... they don't ussually say "77 win team"... but I just meant they have 81-true talent and if they play that the rest of the way they will hit 77

Given what has occurred so far I think 77 is very good guess at the final win total.

I agree actually. But did you grab the number from projected wins or you just made it up out of thin air?
