burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Even if you find a stream that doesn't lag, it won't be HD. Also, you can't watch a s***** stream on your phone. And you can watch 4 games at once with MLB.TV (which I did for the 4 pm slate). MLB.TV is the best. only thing I hate is that it is awful for the IPAD. You can't watch games after they have started for some stupid reason.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 What? You mean we don't get 4 wins for today? We would, but the league is biased towards the Yankees...

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Very impressed with the bottom of the order there. If we can at least have a decent 7-8-9, this team is going to wear down a lot of pitchers.. Only real negative in tonight's game was the high strikeouts (12).. but that Yanks bullpen can be quite nasty. It's the main reason Girardi's kept his team above water. We'll see what happens Wednesday vs. Pineda. And what's your bet Tanaka is eventually going to need TJS? He looked off today..
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I bet Tanaka doesn't last the season. He'll be having TJS before the all-star break. Probably should have had it already, Yanks not going to win anything this year, they could have had him ready for 2016.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Needless to say, great win. I'd love for the team to make the playoffs or at least be in the division race till the end, but overall, this team is so likable that I look forward to getting home and watching them while eating dinner.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I know it's all in a SSS, but Pompey's at bats are really good and Travis has good bat-to-ball skills. Pillar looks better as well. Not talking just about this game, it's more about what I've seen from each of these guys since the beginning.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Definitely a great game and start to the season.
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Regardless of how good of numbers the young rookies put up they are way more exciting to watch than the old Scrubs we've been used to seeing the previous years
RIPEXPOS Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 There are a lot of things to like about this Jays team, namely the lineup and a nice balance of proven studs and talented youngsters. My main concern is how we will fare in close games, particularly with the bullpen which I'm not sold on. I do think the division is as weak as it's been though.

That's where I'm at with this team too. I need to see them still legitimately in the playoff conversation in the dog days of the summer before I totally buy in, but in the meantime, I'm glad the cancers have been fully purged from this team (i.e. JPAtrocious, Lawrie, Rasmus).
CaptMurphy Verified Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 The anti-Blue Jay bias in the US media reached incredible proportions opening day. I've seen coverage of the game that didn't even mention the Blue Jays. It was Yankees this and Yankees that, A-Rod, Tanaka, but not even a mention of the Blue Jays playing the Yankees until the score was given. One didn't even mention the Blue Jays in that, it was "Yankees go down 6-1". The US media doesn't even want to acknowledge the existence of the team. The total lack of respect this team, the organization gets from the US media should be used in the clubhouse to motivate the team.

Yeah this is not new, I have seen it as well, typical Us is the centre of the world mentality there...not surprising. I saw coverage yesterday as well that mentioned the yanks, tanaka, a-rod and the jays were not even mentioned except the score, some fine reporting there.

Well, I watched the game on ESPN and the coverage was actually really balanced. And once the Jays pulled away, the talk of the Yankees changed to mostly about the Jays. Lots of praise for Hutch, our rookies, and how dangerous the Jays lineup is. Turned out to be a pretty good platform for exposing the US market to the revamped 2015 squad.

Governator Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 An off day after opening day is so dumn Why did the Cards & Cubs have the day off yesterday? Seemed stupid to not have them play when every other team is.

Almost felt like a Blue Jays feed without Buck.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 An off day after opening day is so dumn Considering Thursday's game is in jeopardy of being rained out, the off day today looks even dumber. Say what you want about Skydome/RC, but at least you're guaranteed the games will actually get played. All stadiums should have retractable roofs.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 ESPN's baseball coverage is fair to the Blue Jays. ESPN in general (like First Take, PTI, etc) usually just spouts off about the NFL with very little knowledge of anything else, so they are far more likely to be ignorant about the game and only talk about A-Rod and/or Tanaka. Baseball Tonight is usually pretty solid and fair with the Jays.

Actually just looking at the weather network it looks likes Wednesdays game has a better chance at being rained out than Thursdays. I say this because Thursdays game is the first game i will get to watch live this season lol

The US media ignores baseball altogether except when it's the Yankees and sometimes the Red Sox. They don't talk about the Rockies or Orioles either.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Anyone else worried about Dickey tomorrow? I would assume it's tough to throw a knuckleball in the cold/wet
