Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 No you get flamed because you're dumb enough to think my comment was serious. I'm sorry but I have to call you out on this one. Your post didn't have any any of the usual words to imply sarcasm (bro, that kid, etc.) and acting condescending when someone rightfully calls you out is unprecedented.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The usual words to imply sarcasm? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif You're on this board about as much or more than I am, there are usually tell-tale (sp?) words that make it obvious when someone is being sarcastic. Otherwise it just seems like a dumn post, tone of voice isn't easy to interpret in text.

Making sarcasm obvious totally defeats the purpose of the sarcasm, but it's so typical granny-panty BJMB for someone here to call me out on my sarcasm not being obvious enough. c) You really misused the word "unprecedented" in your previous post. Bitching when someone calls you out is not unprecedented around these parts, it's common practice. Maybe "uncalled for" was the term you were looking for.

Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 wow @ the arguments in this thread
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Bitch all you want about the 8-man bullpen or the early callups on Castro and Osuna, there is so much to like about this roster, and so many of the concerns and doubts people had about the Jays ability to put together the best possible roster have been answered. Smoak is starting at 1B, Travis at 2B, Viciedo has been released, Drabek wasn't kept simply because he had options, neither of Izturis or Goins are on the starting roster, Martin's catching the knuckleball, Thole's been demoted, Hynes made the cut, and Hutchison is starting on opening day. The 8-man bullpen will likely go down to seven when Saunders comes off the DL. Probably one of the best post Stroman injury lineups the team could have. Now I await some 30 somethings to get hurt (and hope it's not Edwin for personal reasons)
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Lol and you flame me for saying Cashman is a good GM yet you like Navarro because he was clutch last year. Wow. daggers
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Didn't see this posted elsewhere, figured this was a half decent thread in which to post... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/03/article-xxb-free-agent-updates-tuesday.html The Blue Jays have paid the $100K retention bonus to both Johan Santana and Munenori Kawasaki, tweets Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. Both players were on Minor League deals, but Santana didn’t get into a game with the big league club as he continued to rehab from injury. Kawasaki hit .333/.481/.571 in 27 plate appearances but didn’t make the big league roster. He’ll head to Triple-A and wait for a call to the Majors in an organization with which he is quite familiar and where he is quite popular among the coaches and his teammates.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Apparently Santiago is signing back with the Jays That's a decent development. He's a better glove than Izturis or Tolleson and therefore probably better suited to the backup MI role behind Reyes and Travis.

Tolleson is just below avg at everything and I understand keeping him when going with an 8 man pen. I hope they cut the pen back as soon as Saunders gets back or maybe even before. It really doesn't make sense bringing all our prospects up at the same time just to sit in the pen. We could have gone with a 4 man rotation the first week and a 6 man pen. Just keep guys back at least for a week and see how things play out. If they are all on the 25 man roster so that AA didn't have to bruise and baby egos then it's a mistake.

Defensively he is a good shortstop and great 2B plus what happens when Izturis gets healthy, does he come in to replace tolleson?

He's not suited to a backup role and it woudn't make sense to take the starting gig away from Travis unless he plays himself out of it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 man...where would this team be if they had actually signed Kris Bryant in 2010
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 man...where would this team be if they had actually signed Kris Bryant in 2010 Well... they tried. Where would they be if Pompey decided to not sign with the Jays in 2010 draft with their pick before it? We'd still have Gose.

But that is a $4million piece of cake for Rogers to eat

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 They can't send him to Buffalo he has too much service time. If he agrees to it, they can. No idea why he wouldn't, doubt he gets a MLB contract anywhere else, and the general uncertainty of our 2B position gives him an okay shot to get back to the MLB.

That would depend on his desire to play. He's made $20MM in his career and he's 34 on the decline. Does he really care to do the minors thing, I doubt it. He hasn't played a game in the minors in 5 years which probably suggests he's declined that option ever since he could. Edited April 1, 2015 by Governator
