Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I have a strong feeling that Martin overachieved considerably offensively last year, and we won't be seeing a high .OBP or a good offensive year for him. Hopefully Pompey does well this year and we can replace Martin in the 2 hole. Of course, that ends up having Martin in the 7 slot ;/ His plate discipline is a skill of his though, career 11.6 BB% and 15.8 K%. Sure he might not repeat a 140 wRC+, but projections still like him as an above average hitter.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I just hope he doesn't go back to his Yankee numbers. That's like paying Jose Molina 80m.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I had a dream last night where in his first AB of the season saunders falls on his knees after his first AB. rip.... anyway that lineup is quite fapworthy, any streams?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sanchez Swinging Strikes counter 2
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Scott MacArthur @TSNScottyMac 52s52 seconds ago Some moron in crowd just yelled "Everyone is about to die." Toss him for, at very least, being an unfunny idiot. #BlueJays #MLB #Phillies
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sanchez throwing 96 with the fastball thus far (including that swinging k)
theblujay Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Another weak GB, with two more swinging strikes
baubau Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Castro and Osuna are far better than Delabar, Hendriks, Guilmet and West? That's a pretty big stretch. Pft, 18 spring training innings is all you need JFaS. Let me give you a little lesson on extrapolation: http://bish.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/extrapolation.png Really, we can expect Castro and Osuna to provide 0 ERA over the season. /terrible sarcasm/

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sanchez throwing 96 with the fastball thus far (including that swinging k) Cesar "Soy una mierda" Hernandez and Jeff "I choose wrong spot" Francoeur doesn't count.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 it's scary to think that after howarth retires he seems to be next in line It really is. I know that media sports personalities always tend to stir controversy and gain some haters, but he's in a different league. To be honest the Jays talk segment I can deal with, it's his play by play that is just terrible.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Huh...apparently Aaron Sanchez's real name is Aaron Shipley. I'm going to call him that now.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Huh...apparently Aaron Sanchez's real name is Aaron Shipley. I'm going to call him that now. He certainly has the dorky look of someone with that name.
S33n Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 So many ground balls. Weak ground balls are good, or nah?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 If Shipley can add something to get more K's, we got a Brandon Webb on our hands. Until then, Shipley = Wang with less control
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 How many whiffs does Buerhle get? Heck how many hits does he give up? Heck how many strikeouts does he get? It's concerning. Phillies have no hits through 3, keep dissecting people you'll find something soon.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 If Sanchez can constantly keep is BB/9 under around the 2 mark he is the perfect guy to pitch in T.O because the ground balls are sexy as f***.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 So 1 K, 1 BB, 8 GB, 4 swinging strikes so far. s*** FIP, but SIERA

Hopefully Pompey does well this year and we can replace Martin in the 2 hole. Of course, that ends up having Martin in the 7 slot ;/ Even if Martin regresses a lot he is still a lot better hitter than Pompey. Honestly I see Pompey being the worst hitter in the lineup with everyone healthy. He is going to strike out quite a bit and I don't know if you want that batting 2nd.
skicross1 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 if we run smoak and goins out and donaldson , reyes good infield defense and a lot of ground balls shipley/sanchez could have a good year if he continues to induce ground balls
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 s*** FIP, but SIERA His FIP would be like 3.35
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Who is pitching for the Phillies? I can't check the game at all.
