intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Earliest GDT ever? Whatever. That lineup. Mind your boners (or bonettes).
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Pretty much the opening day lineup depending on what happens with Saunders and whether the team is facing a lefty or a righty.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 against lefty? John Lott Bullpen coach Dane Johnson just took down the pitching schedule and put up a new one. Steve Delabar name is no longer on the sked.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 There is no absolute black hole in that line-up. Any player on that list is capable of having a great game (and the top 5 are probable of having great games...) f***. Yes.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Ezequiel Carrera reassigned. 40 players left in big league camp.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 RMBED isn't exactly WAMCO (acronym wise), but I'm sure we can manage. RMB is the official name of the currency in China, which is colloquially called "Yuan"... Maybe there's something in there.

And we in theory would have decent bats off the bench (some combination of Smoak/Saunders/Navarro)
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I have a strong feeling that Martin overachieved considerably offensively last year, and we won't be seeing a high .OBP or a good offensive year for him. Hopefully Pompey does well this year and we can replace Martin in the 2 hole. Of course, that ends up having Martin in the 7 slot ;/

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Delabar demoted. Huh.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Delabar demoted. Huh. No biggie! Now demote Estarda or Dfa him and we are golden! Take the Best Team North! Means Castro and Osuna to me. They are the better pitchers right now, how can you say they are not?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Delabar seems like a cool dude, I really hope we see him. He still has the stuff, and on any other team he'd be in the MLB (well except the Royals) For some reason this organization also shits on him. He wasn't even called up last September.

Bringing them up now instead of delaying their call up by a few weeks to a few months could be more valuable.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Not really as long as the get there work in and learn! It's about winning ! Always is always will be, nobody cares if you finish second. Just means you were the first loser! Plus getting out of the gates strong with so many games against our division is vastly more important too! Why would a pen of Redman,Castro,Osuna,Hynes,Schultz,West,Loup,Cecil not be a improvement over last year? The question is always to get better, don't want No Scrubs!

What if I told you that the same thing would happen to Stroman (we would lose an extra year of control) if we brought him up at the start of 2014?

Ideally, I want Castro and Osuna starting in the minors today, so perhaps they're prepared to start later this year if needed, or next year. I just don't think they're particularly valuable bullpen pieces compared to what they could be as starters.

I think this year they can help this team out a ton in the pen over the other options we have. Next year they can go back to being starters. I don't see what the big problem is.

I guess they could pitch the entire year in relief, but that pretty much makes them go backward, not forward, seeing as their whole innings limit will go out of whack. They should go the route of 2014 Sanchez

Governator Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 That line up... Now Sanchez let's dial down those competitive walks and get some whiffs to quiet the naysayers. Let this board #cometogther and enjoy an orgasmic moment for once.

They should go the route of 2014 Sanchez I have a feeling they will be using them in a unique way. Pitching 2-3 innings per outing (depending on results). Using a longer rest similar to Sanchez at the end of last year. If they pitch 50 times and get 2-3 innings a time they could still get 100ish innings

You have to wonder if they have 2 guys who can pitch 2-3 innings or so if needed. That way maybe they go with a 6 man pen to have 3 catchers. Doesn't seem like a great idea, but having Thole takes a lot away from their bench.

If a starter goes down or faulters one of them can always be sent down and stretched out just like last season with Stroman.
