I'm kind of interested to see how people on this board think Brett will fair in Oaktown, humor me with your predictions.

Regardless I'll bite.

That would be around my guess too. Who knows though, guy could turn on a switch and hit .300/.350

Lawrie will be a forever .245 /.310 /.400 type until he slows his hands down. It appears that he's not the teachable type in this regard, so I say good luck to the A's. Beane will trade him to the NL in a few years while he still has marginal value for a late inning type RP.

That Zips line looks about right to me. I'll go with it.

I'm not sure if I like the guy or not yet and want him to do well or poor. I think I'll know after we play Oakland the first time. Of course, there's a good chance he's injured when we play them so it might answer nothing.

He's going to get injured chasing a foul out into the stands. He'll look at all the space at the O.Co and run it out hard.

especially playing for Oakland and with his defense. Wouldn't surprise me if Lawrie has a better defensive season than Donaldson.

with that massive infield, his D will play up huge.

if one guy apparently puts up a "better defensive season" than the other because he's lucky to play 3rd base for Oakland then there's something off with the defensive metrics, no?

That's a good point. A replacement level 3B in Oakland should still be able to make a lot of the deep foul plays that aren't presented in other stadiums, so a certain amount of those plays shouldn't add defensive runs to the player's value. Anyone know how that's factored in?
