You are overvaluing the performance of Adderall as if it will make any good player great. How did Chris Davis do last year?

Nope, didn't say this. I think it will make any player better, how much so depends. We don't know when Chris was tested last year so you can discontinue that argument; I assume he was off it for most of the year and then started up again and got caught.

Who cares when he was tested, he admitted he was taking it last year without permission and his results were laughable.

"I apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Orioles organization and especially the fans," Davis said. "I made a mistake by taking Adderall. I had permission to use it in the past, but do not have a therapeutic-use exemption (TUE) this year. I accept my punishment and will begin serving my suspension immediately."

I already said you can discontinue this argument because we don't know when he was tested and therefore when he started up again. We only know that he was allowed to take it in 2013 and not 2014, but he did anyway.

Aderall is the drug of choice for many in NFL. It's seen a broadspread increase in usage across all sports. It's even being used in professional e-gaming. University students and the like use it. People are definitely not just taking this drug to "feel normal" they're using it for notable and significant performance increase.

The argument here isn't whether or not it is performance enhancing, because I think most can agree that it is. The argument is whether or not it enhances performances enough to bring up his Adderall usage every time someone talks about him as a hitter. Does it really make him that much greater of a hitter that we need to question his abilities without it? I don't think so.

Speaking of ADD and guys who don't seem to be enhanced by substance (that have previously used them) how did Nelson Cruz become such a beast....even in SEA?

At 35 the guy is supposedly clean now. When he was with Texas I never saw the upside in him at all. His last 2 seasons have been an incredible story.

Those who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD are most definitely using it to feel normal though. If they are abusing it to try and have an advantage or don't have a diagnosis all together that is a different conversation but if they are playing within the rules because of a disorder they have, it's a rather mute point. Some people have an athletic gift that perhaps otherwise would go unnoticed because he's too focused on tapping his head 45 times with his baseball bat waiting to be on deck, thus coach's and teammates have a hard time connecting with him and seeing his true potential. A kid like that would not make it out of high school ball without help with his anxiety.

It isn't likely the ones upset by him taking adderall would have anything to say about it if it were someone on their own team. This is just as bad as O's fans saying that there's something fishy going on with the Jays because of the homeruns they hit. It's all petty jealousy, really.

Plot twist: Chris Davis' Hard Hit% is the greatest of his career, while his Soft% is at it's lowest.

I don't buy this as much more than noise, but interesting to note.

Personally I think we should move towards allowing and regulating PEDs so they can be used openly and safely with the assistance of physicians. Every sport in the world has a PED issue at this point, although it varies by degrees. I can tell you that there is obviously a lot of doping going on in tennis and soccer. The reason is that there is too much money in sport for players to pass up any opportunity to improve.

people will press the boundaries not matter where they are set. If you move the bar people will go past that as well. it's probably still easier to say none than try to evaluate what a little is...

LTR is such a huge, ignorant moron that it hurts my brain to even post. Exactly this, Chris Davis has a mental disability and as someone who suffers from the same thing you really have no f***ing clue if you think Davis is taking it to hit MOAR DINGERS. He has a condition and uses medication to treat that condition.

I understand being upset about a bad day in baseball...but LTR loves to take it to a different level. There is baseball...then there is life.

Literally all of my friends (i know, i know, small number) have ADHD and ADD and when you aren't on medication for it you'd think they're different people.

Ah you kids are just too hyper on sugar these days. Overreacting parents sending children to psychiatrists and drugging you up for being kids. Pft!

Just kidding GD. I know what you mean. I have a few friends in similar situations too.

Similar point that will raise eyebrows and avert from LTR discussion: Never had coffee. Ever.

You aren't missing much. Coffee puts me to sleep. I am part of the few. Does not taste good either.
