LTR Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Billy Hamilton is ridiculously fast. 52-7 SB 12.4 BsR, yeah I'd say.
baubau Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Billy Hamilton is ridiculously fast. All of his value comes from his speed, nothing else. Yes defense too but due to his speed he can get to balls fast. The dude is hitting 49 wRC+, has a OBP of .269 yet providing 1.6 WAR. He'll be over 2 WAR by seasons end just by stealing bases and catching balls. Its a shame he can't hit or get on base. Would be a much more exciting player to watch. Heck if he could hit like Pillar he'd be a 3-4 WAR player.
baubau Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Oh, I agree. I was just blown away by how quickly he got up after sliding back into 1st and ran all the way to 3rd. For sure. Watching him play honestly makes me think the Blue Jays should invest in Usain Bolt. Just tell him not to swing at anything and he'll still likely spot a OBP similar to that of Hamilton. With his speed he'd easily steal 50-60 and be a gold glove OF. (yes this is sarcasm just to highlight how rednok of a niche Billy Hamilton has carved out)

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Billy Hamilton is ridiculously fast. ... But he suxxx at béisbol.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 The reds are a bad franchise. If you consider the sheer amount of elite players they have had and how little they have accomplished
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 that Schwarber kid is a scary monster.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) ... But he suxxx at béisbol. His baserunning and defense, make up for his two missing tools, he's above average, IIRC? Edited August 14, 2015 by Spanky99

Swervin81 Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Best wishes to Farrell. That's just terrible. At least it's stage 1, so it should be treatable since they caught it early. f*** cancer.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Nobody deserves that s***. Hope for a good recovery.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Terrible news, but it sounds like he'll be able to pull this one out.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 good thing we didn't get Samardzija. he's awful.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Terrible news, but it sounds like he'll be able to pull this one out. If it's stage one, shouldn't even need to go through the hell that is chemotherapy. Surgery should remove it completely. Hope for the best.

Hope for the best. Yes but Lymphoma is a very aggressive type of cancer. My driving instructor had it and gone through rounds of chemo and after X amount of months they told him he was cancer free. Less than a month later he died from it.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Horrible news. Get well Farrell.
