Billy Hamilton is ridiculously fast.

All of his value comes from his speed, nothing else. Yes defense too but due to his speed he can get to balls fast. The dude is hitting 49 wRC+, has a OBP of .269 yet providing 1.6 WAR. He'll be over 2 WAR by seasons end just by stealing bases and catching balls. Its a shame he can't hit or get on base. Would be a much more exciting player to watch. Heck if he could hit like Pillar he'd be a 3-4 WAR player.

Oh, I agree. I was just blown away by how quickly he got up after sliding back into 1st and ran all the way to 3rd.

For sure.

Watching him play honestly makes me think the Blue Jays should invest in Usain Bolt. Just tell him not to swing at anything and he'll still likely spot a OBP similar to that of Hamilton. With his speed he'd easily steal 50-60 and be a gold glove OF. (yes this is sarcasm just to highlight how rednok of a niche Billy Hamilton has carved out)

John Farrell opens his pre-game conference with the announcement that he has lymphoma.

Torey Louvollo will be the interim manager until Farrell returns in the 2016 season.

Best wishes to Farrell. That's just terrible. At least it's stage 1, so it should be treatable since they caught it early.

f*** cancer.

And the cancer was randomly found while he was getting a hernia surgery. Jesus.

Get well John! You can pull through this.

that's pretty crazy, he's one of the lucky ones.

Terrible news, but it sounds like he'll be able to pull this one out.

If it's stage one, shouldn't even need to go through the hell that is chemotherapy. Surgery should remove it completely.

Hope for the best.

Yes but Lymphoma is a very aggressive type of cancer. My driving instructor had it and gone through rounds of chemo and after X amount of months they told him he was cancer free. Less than a month later he died from it.
