f***ed things about Orioles hangout:

- Despite the overwhelming number of very stupid people, strict grammar, spelling and punctuation rules are in place. So the site artificially appears more intelligent?

- People here hate the Blue Jays more than the Red Sox and Yankees.

- Sign stealing from that hack ESPN article is still brought up, despite the number of people who have debunked it and shamed the authors. Relates to the first point.

- Seem certain they are getting a good prospect (or borderline ace, in Stroman's case) for a guy the Jays want to give a raise and promotion to, obviously meaning he has no interest in being there.

- Any points made that are not pro-Oriole are forcefully shot down without any type of thought or analysis into the point's accuracy.

Literally the only good thing to ever come from that cesspool was Complacent Reynolds. That's it.

Or it's why you stay up late combing through winter league stats as opposed to just punching out and calling it quits at the end of business. As much as it sucks. This needs to happen and it needs to happen fast. Lets face it. DD is human. At what point does he become resentful. Even without it being noticeable. Your GM's heart has to be in it 24/7. Especially in baseball. Just let him go and get the most for him. We still have Buck. If we get Pompey the OF spots look pretty good for the future.

no big deal guys, we'll just take our top 50 prospect CF and/or young ace and/or Devout Dan and call it a day. Because there's no precedent of guys like Duquette going for a AAA reliever or anything.

ArtVanDelay: "They can keep Stroman. Dude's a clown. They would never agree to that anyway. I think Pompey is the best we're going to get and I'm hoping for him."

ugh

Holy f*** lol, that Duquette thread has ~2300 posts.

How could it be discussed that much? They must all be fapping about getting one of our studs.

I don't understand why they're willfully ignoring the complete lack of precedent for pieces like Stroman and Pompey being exchanged for an executive.

Because Duquette is clearly the best executive to ever leave a baseball team, so they must get clearly the best return, by a factor of at least 100!

Reiterating what he said in Dec, #Orioles Peter Angelos is NOT going to deal Dan Duquette to #BlueJays. "It's not going to happen" he said

Angelos: There have not been any changes in the status of Dan Duquette. He is our GM and he is going to remain our GM. ..."

More Angelos: "(Duquette) is concentrating on his efforts to determine the composition of our team for 2015. That is the answer. Period."

Angelos said the #BlueJays have inquired about Duq, "but we are not negotiating with them in any way."

"They have expressed interest in (Duq), which we understand because Dan is an exceptional GM, but we're not in any negotiations with (them)"

Angelos said he does not believe specific players/compensation has been discussed re: Duq. But it doesnt matter, because Os arent budging.

Angelos reiterates Duq signed thru 2018: "He works for the Orioles. Hes got a contract. He is very sophisticated. He understands ... that."

I guess if you practically make the same tweet over and over again you'll get what you hope for. That happens in reality right?

I can't believe these morons STILL talking about sign stealing.

They think the man in white is a real thing. It's just taken as a given over there that the Blue Jays are master sign stealers. Oh and that half the team is on undetectable, powerful Canadian steroids.

The fact that this won't die down worries me. Someone at Rogers may be obsessed with Duquette, I just hope it doesn't lead them to doing something stupid.

Last time we were all ridiculing another team's fans for their trade demands was in the lead-up to the Dickey trade and I don't think we want a repeat of that.

Stroman is not a true Oriole.

This dude told another poster that he likes him better than Ken Rosenthal, because "you treat me better than Ken does". Link here.

Kind of makes sense why that place is so f***ed up and manic when their "managing editor" is a f***ing weirdo himself.

I think the craziest part of their board is that they won't let you post articles from other sites...out of respect for copyright infringements. I think we should be worried about Baseball America coming after us.

The only board with a handsome and smart spanish speaker is this.

I think I'm one of the differents between the two board. You're lucky to have me.

AA, dont trade me for Duquette.!

The Orioles need to part with GM Dan Duquette.

Ken Rosenthal

Yes, I noted the strong denial from Orioles owner Peter Angelos after both FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi and I reported that the Orioles had discussed a compensation package that the O's would require for allowing Duquette to become CEO of the Blue Jays.

To which I say: All part of negotiating.

Angelos told Dan Connolly of The (Baltimore) Sun that Duquette to the Jays "is not going to happen." Certainly, I would not expect Angelos to tip his hand. I also would not expect him to part easily with Duquette, who is under contract through 2018.

Here's the problem: Duquette wants the job, according to major-league sources; CEO is a step up from GM -- the highest position, in fact, that an executive can attain.

Duquette's preference is no secret within the Orioles' organization, creating a question of divided loyalties and an uncomfortable working environment. As I've reported previously, some of those employees believe that Angelos should allow Duquette to depart.

What would the Orioles do about a GM? Manager Buck Showalter likely would welcome more responsibility, perhaps even a dual manager/GM role. Special assistant Brady Anderson also could assume expanded duties, and the Orioles could hire an administrative type to make sure the front office ran efficiently.

Could Showalter succeed as both manager and GM? Probably not, considering that a GM's responsibilities are almost too much for one person, much less someone who also is managing. But that is a question for another time.

The bottom line is that Angelos has an employee who wants to be elsewhere. And that is not a healthy situation.

Jeff Hoffman? - No way!!

hypothetical

if AA does trade Hoffman for Duquette.

Does that pretty much wipe all the good that AA has done in this offseason?

Does it erase the goodwill he did in acquiring Martin/Saunders/Donaldson?

It would for me.

Yeah it would be pretty bad.

Not sure what could have possibly made Gammons think he was "a good fit"? Seems like a top prospect that can't even be moved until June is a really randomn choice in that respect.

Doesn't wipe it out completely but it would definitely be a stupid move on his part.

AA's path to redemption is to field a playoff contender with the Bautista/EE core. This wouldn't really impact that goal so it would be an ultimately forgiveable offense is things otherwise go well in 2015.
