burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Anyone kinda scared Rogers hire some dumb President that sets the franchise back 10 years? 3 of the 4 "candidates" so far have made some pretty bad moves. Even with Dan Duquette I'd probably rather have AA just move up to president. At least we know he can build a good farm system and negotiate some pretty good contracts. Hell, maybe as president/CEO he can convince Rogers to spend more money at the right time.

But nobody could possibly be worse than Beeston.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 From http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/bust...tindanduquette But Toronto's interest in Duquette is serious enough that the Jays' ownership has been backed in its pursuit by the commissioner's office, which has encouraged the two sides to have a dialogue.... ...Angelos could recuse Duquette from the process, given his obvious conflict of interest in this situation, and ask his baseball operations advisors -- such as manager Buck Showalter -- to create a possible compensation list for the Jays' ownership. The Orioles could ask for one or perhaps two of these players: Marcus Stroman, the Jays' highly touted young pitcher who had a 3.65 ERA in 26 games last season; Aaron Sanchez, a relief pitcher who allowed just 14 hits in his first 33 innings in the big leagues last summer; Daniel Norris, a left-hander who advanced from Class A to the big leagues; Jeff Hoffman, the Jays' first-round pick in 2014; Max Pentecost, a 21-year-old catcher; or Richard Urena, a 19-year-old shortstop. Here is your comedy for this morning
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Marcus Stroman for Dan Duquette. Steal.
flafson Verified Member Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Marcus Stroman for Dan Duquette. Steal. For that price they will probably throw in Buck Showalter too.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Ken Rosenthal Sources: #Orioles, #BlueJays have discussed compensation package that O’s would require for allowing GM Dan Duquette to become Jays CEO. Sources add: #Orioles, #BlueJays not close to deal on Duquette, but talks indicate O’s open to his departure; CEO higher position than GM. Duquette under contract with #Orioles through 2018. As I’ve previously reported, some O’s people want him to go. Uncomfortable situation.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 O's fans want Stroman what will realistically happen is the Jays give up someone like..Jonathan Diaz
flafson Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 O's fans want Stroman what will realistically happen is the Jays give up someone like..Jonathan Diaz That price is probably a lot closer to the truth than Stroman.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That price is probably a lot closer to the truth than Stroman. Duquette for Taylor Cole
flafson Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 O's fans want Stroman what will realistically happen is the Jays give up someone like..Jonathan Diaz According to O's forum. Some O's radio station is reporting the O's are asking for Dalton Pompey. It does make sense that they want him, they value every day hitters way more than pitchers. I remember a few years ago Buck (O's Buck) saying that's why they drafted Manny Machado.

Brenner Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 We have no depth, can't affird to give up any position players at or near MLB level like Pillar or Pompey. Seems silly to give up any asset to acquire a CEO, also since its a promotion I don't think the O's really have any ground to deny it.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Ricky Romero for Duquette Sabotaging the enemy, I see
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 JaY Wow things are moving fast on the #BlueJays CEO front. Compensation packages already worked out, does that mean a deal is imminent?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Like installing a Trojan Horse... Duquette should just trade Machado for Ricky Romero, get fired, then come over here.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Duquette should just trade Machado for Ricky Romero, get fired, then come over here. Brilliant.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 O's board is f***ing retarded Just figuring this out???? It has been a constant LOL fest over there for as long as it has been up. Just follow it throughout the season you will get a lot of laughs.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Pretty funny. Recall that Theo Epstein was worth this guy: http://www.baseball-reference.com/japan/player.cgi?id=carpen002chr And Jed Hoyer was worth exactly nothing.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Yeah, the price is going to be some fringy minor league reliever. Nothing more. History does not support the idea of a top prospect changing hands here.
