We have 6 ML quality starters with Sanchez potentially another. Two more in the pipeline (Castro, Osuna) and 2 swingmen in the pen (Hendriks, Redmond). Pitching was a position of depth and we just traded from it. We are set now.

We are far from set with this rotation if you seriously want to be a contender

Saunders could never stay healthy in Seattle. That's the only downside of this trade. He can mash in this park though. Be an above average LF.

 

He does have injury concerns, but he played 130 games in both 2012 and 2013

I was JUST thinking him (De La Rosa from Colorado, not Hamels lol). Projected 2.4 WAR, making $11 million (compared to Dickey's $12.5). LHP. All good.

With Pitching which would you guys do for about the same money

 

5 years of Lester for $26 million per OR 7 years Scherzer at $28 million per. Instant shut down Ace of the staff.

 

OR

 

Both Andrew Miller and David Robertson for a combined 5 years $26 million. Set-up and Closer tandem would be the best in baseball with Cecil and Loup as a pretty lethal 7th inning tandem.
