That's the thing...interested teams think that he is going to be put on waivers anyway - why give him a player? Interested teams would be willing to take the risk of it being claimed by someone before them, but if not, they can easily take him on just for that salary for this year and maybe buy out the following years.

He'll probably just clear waivers, go to Buffalo and leave the Blue Jays on the hook for the same 2014 number as before. I don't think this is some creative payroll thing.

If there were any interested teams he would already be pitching for another team.

After 20 innings of inflated ERA ball the FO has decided that Rogers and Santos are worse pitchers than Rasmussen, Mills, Sanchez, and McGowan. This org is awful.

I was waiting for some useless commentary

And yet, our choice for closer is far better then anything the Rays have done this year. But you know what, the Rays can claim Santos if they like him. Yes or no, should the Rays claim Santos for their "pennant run" ?

Just because BTS posts it, doesn't make it about the Rays you simpleton.

It's only useless commentary in the same way every post on this forum is useless commentary. There just isn't a basis for the belief that guys like Mills, Rasmussen, McGowan and Sanchez are better pitchers ROS than Santos and Rogers. I'm sorry that you don't like that opinion.

Oh, the joys of being called a "simpleton" by a Jays board hack. I'd bet strong money I have a higher IQ and a stronger degree then 99% of the people

on this forum. Reality over bulletin board bs every single time.

What does non-applicable intelligence have to do with baseball?

Relax I agree with you for the most part but relievers are unpredictable. Rasmussen can look good for the next month for all we now

I pray some GM picks him up, what a nightmare tenure since he's been here. The writing was on the wall with his injuries even before he came, it was such a roll of the dice that predictably backfired. I hated having him from day 1, that and trading super utility boy Yan Gomes for Esmil Rogers were complete head scratchers. Edited by jays76

I always though a strong math background, or extensive work experience in the area of data analysis would be applicable to this area. But thanks for

clarifying that. Perhaps we can have a lot less statistical content posted on this board then.

Says the guy who thinks Tyler Bozak is a 1C stud.

Statistical knowledge is good.

But sometimes people who are very good with numbers boil everything down to a number and ignore everything else.

I've never heard you say this. Interesting. It literally changes everything.

If only they could get rid of that scrub Kessel. Then the shackles would really be off. #MVPTB

Where the hell is Harry Potter when you need him?

So wait.....is Santos not better than Janssen?

Santos is still better. It wasn't Santos' fault for his implosions. Just bad luck.

Santos seems to be very unlucky at baseball.

Is this what people said when EE was dfa'd?

How about when Halliday was sent down?
