I've always wondered this - Why do you put bold tags before your posts?

 

Old habit. I don't like how the content of a post is mushed up against the post's header on forum layouts such as this one. Makes it easier to read with a space at the top, and the only way to put a space at the top of the post as if you hit "Enter" is to put any random format tag. It's easy to type "Ctrl+B" so I just go with that. If you simply hit "Enter", BBCode won't recognize it as a real space and re-format the post as if the space doesn't exist.
