ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Yup... considering we can't blame injuries Yup. I'd like to see how other lineups would look with 2 of their top 6 hitters out and 2 more limping around. Even Rasmus has been dealing with a wrist issue. We all know the team needed a RHB and an everyday 2B. Reimold may be the bat, they are clearly looking at getting an everyday 2b/3b...we'll see what happens.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Everyone is always kissing Gibbons ass here. I like him, but not that much. He only has so much to work with. Is he just supposed to build himself a better ball player out of Lego?
Comx Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I don't blame John at all for this, he's trying to MacGyver a team that can score runs with the junk he has been handed (the platoons make sense on paper). This is all AA's fault, if he doesn't make some moves soon this season will be on him.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 He only has so much to work with. Is he just supposed to build himself a better ball player out of Lego? Yeah, but it's not like injuries have nothing to do with it. You have to accept that the team is short-handed right now, it simply is. I'm not suggesting Gibbons is a bad manager, but many seem to always pit him against AA and conveniently FORGET that it was A f***ing A who went against all odds to REHIRE Gibbons after the organization decided to try to contend ASAP instead of going into 2013 expected to lose 95 games. And I'd say the same ting about AA, I've liked some of what he's done in the past, but I don't give a f*** about him either.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Rasmus father isn't happy right now I guess he don't take no despairing.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 It's an embarrassment. The best you can come up with in a pennant race is Cole Gillespie and Darin Mastroianni? And you had $130MM to spent on players? Well said, bro.
Comx Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 In what twisted, murderous dystopia does Gillespie batting vs LHPs make sense on paper?!? I would imagine Gillespie's numbers are better than Rasmus who holds a .640 OPS vs lefties the last 3 years, not including Gillespie's major league splits which are too small a sample.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Sounds like AA is holding us back... The whole front office needs to go. John Farrell claimed that AA would not listen to him either

John Farrell claimed that AA would not listen to him either f*** John Farrell. He wanted to waive Escobar and start (and therefore expose) Hech. If AA is dumb than John Farrell is dumber.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 With the swings Rasmus was taking tonight.. Jesus.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Bring up Gose, and keep him here,it,ll be good experience for him, plus he has speed, and is good in 9th spot before Reyes.Bring up Kratz, and Pillar.Pillar has speed, and can play OF,Kratz has power,so 2 speed, and 1 power. I dont get these moves at all, they are not going to work.Rasmus is still hurting, and Gose is healthy. They should be platooned with Gose getting more AB.at least he can put pressure on a defense when batting.I,m sick of Rasmus` tinkering.Should be learning to hit for a good avg,and Reyes, what the hell is his avg doing at .25x Do something that makes sense. You can have 3-4 speed guys batting consecutively, and you wont do it? Come on ,you cant expect to hit 3 run hrs all year, especially now that big Ed is out,and Lawrie. We miss Lawries defense, but also his speed. Its not that hard guys...wake up!!

I was so pissed when i wrote this.watching them lately really sucks! It makes you so mad,you forget to make paragraphs, and paragraphs can calm you right down. Amazing,we get a break when Weaver leaves,we take the lead, and its like ,ok we,ll just wait till they take the lead,on Rasmus` solid defensive crapabilty.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 In what twisted, murderous dystopia does Gillespie batting vs LHPs make sense on paper?!? Well the guy he is platooning with has a career 54 RC+ vs lefties. I'd prefer they go with someone else other than Gillespie (like Kratz) but Gibby has to work with what he has got.

Governator Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Colby Rasmus' value must have just plummeted about 30%+ being labeled a platoon player in his contract year.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Colby Rasmus' value must have just plummeted about 30%+ being labeled a platoon player in his contract year. He is labelling himself with a .260 OBP and 70Ks plus showing himself to be an injury risk. This is 2012 Colby with a sub .700 OPS and a billion Ks. That throw last night was atrocious on sac fly. Honestly...that was bad. I was hoping for continued upward progression from 2013 from him this year...lots of ball left but he has major hill to climb.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Using s***** platoon players might be the best way to send a signal to the man in charge. If that's the idea, I kind of love this. Yeah... send a signal that he is asking to be fired.

Once again this team continues to be an embarrassment unless they do something soon. Potentially devastating signs ahead as they say... red sky in the morning sailor take warning.

Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
