New theory....jays claimed cole hamels and want to make it look like Lawrie is injured again so the Phillies dont think about asking for him.

Blue Jays not on Cole Hamels list of teams he can be sent to w/o his consent, so your theory sucks.

season over

/end thread

I think the season was over when Edwin blew out his leg trying to be a hero. Just imagine where we'd be with Edwin; makes me want to cry.

Yup. All that just because he wanted to beat a grounder. God hates this team

The irony: Edwin never used to run out grounders very hard.

I spent a good portion of the first half of the season yelling at him to hustle.. I learned my lesson

My theory is better than your posts....he could veto a trade but it doesnt mean we didnt claim him

Yep. Maybe the Robinson Cano school of thinking is on to something. Don't risk getting hurt running to first. Not worth it. Stay healthy, get paid $$$$ anyway.

When Lind does rejoin the Blue Jays he'll likely be limited to designated-hitter duties until Edwin Encarnacion is activated from the 15-day disabled list. Lind's foot hasn't improved to the point where he can play the field on a regular basis, but Toronto wants to get his bat into the lineup.

Encarnacion is still without a timeline for his return, but he's likely at least two weeks away. He has started working out on a stationary bike and has continued to take some light swings but still has quite a ways to go in his recovery from a strained right quad.

Toronto likely will continue to use Juan Francisco and Danny Valencia at first base for the foreseeable future. Once Encarnacion returns, he can start at DH, while the hope is that Lind will then be ready to play the field at first.

As per Wilner's twitter:

@Wilnerness590: AA: Still don't know how Lawrie got hurt. Assuming he'll miss all of September. Edwin should be back next week, maybe Mon. #Bluejays #Jays

Terrible news on Lawrie and I highly doubt we see Ed on Monday.

OMG that's awesome re: Edwin - was hearing end of August.

I think the Lawrie news is a typo. It should say Lawrie will miss all of August for sure.

Agreed on the typo. All of September is 6-8 weeks vs. the 3-6 that was stated.

EDIT: and you're right. Wilner just corrected himself.

I'm going to the game on Sunday. A friend bought the tickets a few months back when the team was on a roll. I was hoping these guys would be back by then. And now it looks like Price will be pitching, probably against Buehrle. (gross).

They are still leading the second WC, only 4 games back of the division and could close it to 3 with a win tonight.....

Also, I would think most baseball fans would love to go see Price pitch.

I find unless you have a really good seat in the 100s behind home plate its not as enjoyable to watch a good pitching performance compared to TV. If you are at the side its pretty much impossible to tell the location of the pitches and if your up high you can't really see the depth of a breaking ball.

It's more like sitting in the nosebleeds to see your favourite band play. It's a just-being-there thing even though for all you know it's just dudes in wigs holding instruments down there.

I agree TV is the best vantage point unless you have excellent seats. That being said, I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't want to see Price live over a less gifted SP, even if the seats aren't the best.
