Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Omg... I can't believe they are even TALKING about another DL stint for Lawrie. Is it really that serious? I thought it might be a couple days or something... f***
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Well, if Lawrie is done, then our season is over pretty much. Our rotation blows and our offense is a joke without Brett and EE. Sigh.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) I don't know the diagnosis, since I'm not a doctor, and don't play one one http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com, but the one thing that scared me was MRI, which I dont think is something you often hear when it comes to a sore back. I am thinking, though, that after the Lind Mom incident, the Jays will get an MRI for anyone who farts hard for the rest of the season, so probably just general soreness and he's literally day to day. In day to day medicine you don't order MRIs to assess presumed muscular injuries. You just make a physical diagnosis and treat the person. You use MRI for brains, spines and joints mostly. For multimillion dollar athletes that you want to know how many days they need to be off, and you have your own MRI machine or MRI time, you use it. Edited August 6, 2014 by G-Snarls
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 We hope he won't need to be put on the dl, f*** you. Put him on the DL and shut the f*** up
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Starting to think Lawrie is one of those guys that will always be hurt... frustrating
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 There's no reason the MRI results shouldn't be basically instantaneous. Seems like they're holding back for PR purposes.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I don't like the sound of that.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Jenn @GTAchick78 · 1h I'm hearing that Brett Lawrie has suffered an oblique strain. Same as 2012. Could be out six weeks. #BlueJays Apparently this person also broke the Valencia trade, so take it for what it's worth... if it wasn't serious he wouldn't be going to Florida.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 my gawd, Lawrie is made of glass.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 So Lawrie done for the season? 2012 - 125GP 2013 - 107GP 2014 - 70GP 2015 - 55GP?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 For a 24 year old athletic freak he's pretty fragile.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 For a 24 year old athletic freak he's pretty fragile. Well he is physically out of control + plays on turf

Who does this chick sleep with that enables her to know so much?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 John Lott @LottOnBaseball 22s #BlueJays spokesman says Fla. doctors have Lawrie’s previous MRI for oblique injury, providing a “baseline” for comparison to today’s MRI. Looks like the source I posted above checks out

"should be a couple days, oh my B, six weeks"
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 And that is why you don't rush a guy back without even playing a week's worth or rehab games. Seems to me he wasn't in game shape.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Oblique is the Bluejays secret word for Vagina.
baubau Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 So Lawrie done for the season? 2012 - 125GP 2013 - 107GP 2014 - 70GP 2015 - 55GP? I see no clear underlined trend here. But jokes aside, dear good god Lawrie! Put down the redbull and pickup a god damn protein shake.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I would look to trade this guy in the offseason for a guy like gregarious.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I guess any mccutchen needs to lay off the red bull....guy gets hit one time and breaks like glass
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I'm going to venture a guess and say that you're watching the Royals D-Backs game right now Nope just like DD
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 And that is why you don't rush a guy back without even playing a week's worth or rehab games. Seems to me he wasn't in game shape. They didn,t have to rush him back at all. They must have panicked, and thought they would never win another game this year unless Lawrie returned pronto.(Sigh) With EE they will do the right thing. Hopefully we will still have a shot whenever he comes back from his rehab stint. Lawrie better learn to control his enthusiasm.
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 And the word on EE is??? MLB.com DL list says late August
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 New theory....jays claimed cole hamels and want to make it look like Lawrie is injured again so the Phillies dont think about asking for him.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I wonder if AA would deal for Prado or Headley now? The guy just doesn't realize he has fragile players and needs as much depth as possible.
