GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 What about Morrow and Santos? They're two of our best players. /ECJF bait

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 Lawrie, Reyes and Bautista are clearly the three position players we could least afford to lose Bautista - Pillar Lawrie - Framcisco Reyes - Kawasaki All massive downgrades

Both injuries today looked bad to me, but we'll have to wait and see.
Nabru Verified Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 but we mustn't panic guys all is good, right? I don't panic, it's a sport for f***'s sake. I just laugh. I laugh at the payroll increase for players acquired via trading a chunk of the farm system. Then refusing (or not allowed) to spend any money on free agents when there were glaring holes at SP, 2B, and a righthanded bat to platoon Lind. I do not take the Blue Jays seriously under Rogers, Beeston, or Anthopoulos. I will pay for tickets and go to games when baseball people are in charge. Until then, EMA.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Yeah I don't know why anyone would panic unless this is the best thing in your life. For me it's a source of entertainment. I like to see the Jays win, but if they don't I wouldn't lose a lick of sleep over it.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Lawrie fractured finger. Bautista has hamstring tightness.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Looks like Francisco is our everyday 3B.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Make a trade To accomplish what? We now need a 3B, 2B, SP, RP.......just let this team play out the year, keep the prospects and let them develop.

I'll always watch the Jays on TV but it says something when I've spent more money on this forum then I have at Jays ball games in the last 21 years.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Lawrie out 4 to 5 weeks at least?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Both Lawrie and Poulous are at fault for this. It's mind blowing to me that Lawrie was not wearing a hand protector after getting plunked twice already this week.

How would you know if hand protection makes it harder or uncomfortable for him to hit? It's not like he was batting Jason Kendall-style, give him a break.

Lindy, no need for any protection for that foot when you get back. You're good to go.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I just googled "Juan Francisco" and look at the google images that pop up.

Getting baseball players to change equipment is really tough to do.

Getting baseball players to change equipment is really tough to do. The Jays are paying Lawrie to play for them. He is an asset and you always protect your assets. You make it sound like the likelihood of Lawrie getting plunked on the hands is the same as a pitcher getting drilled in the head with a line drive.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 It seems Lawrie doesn't know how to turn to the right to protect his hands and wrists and let the ball hit him on the arm which has muscles to protect the bones. Like Matt Holliday did when Stroman hit him a few weeks ago.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I just googled "Juan Francisco" and look at the google images that pop up. I'm shocked that this has never come up before around here. 4 WAR photographer/artist though

I just think that if you asked Lawrie to wear it and he struck out next AB...you'd never see it again anyway.
