Skinny David Cooper

He still has time to develop into being better looking.

He looks like what David Cooper would look like if he had a chin. lol

I like that pick for St. Louis. Draft eligible sophomore Trevor MeGill. Was ranked higher earlier in the year. Big guy with decent stuff.

I think he wants to play pro ball man. Hes already calling himself a major league pitcher on twitter lol.

IIRC, Beede did the same thing after he was drafted.

#Indians have signed #31 pick Justin Sheffield for a signing bonus report to be $1,600,000. He had a scholarship waiting from Vanderbilt.

Baseball America:

151. Matt Morgan, C, Thorsby (Ala.) HS

In a deep year for prep catching, Morgan is one of the more athletic high school backstops in the country. He has the physical attributes to remain behind the plate after having moved to the position from the outfield. His athleticism stands out behind the plate, with good flexibility through his hips and strength in his hands. He blocks well and receives well in the zone but will need to improve his receiving out of the zone and against velocity. He also has above-average arm strength, though it doesn’t always play that way. Morgan has a quick stroke and could be a fringe-average hitter, and with continued physical development to his 6-foot, 193-pound frame, he could have plus raw power with natural extension and average power production. The Alabama commit is a well below-average runner.

Matt Morgan (Afro Catcher)

No Alabama high school catcher has gone in the first five rounds of the Draft since the Mets took Craig Brazell in the fifth round in 1998. Brazell played only briefly in the Major Leagues, while Morgan has enough promise offensively and defensively to project as a possible regular.

Unlike many of the top catching prospects in the 2014 Draft, Morgan creates little doubt that he'll be able to stay behind the plate. He has solid arm strength, receives the ball well and is an agile defender. Scouts give him high marks for his leadership skills and competitiveness, as well.

Morgan also can do some damage with his bat. He gets good extension with his right-handed swing and will develop more power once he learns to turn on pitches more frequently. For now, he's content to use a gap-to-gap approach that shows good maturity for a high school hitter.

I like this pick. A good athletic catcher who can stay behind the plate with a chance to hit, and hit with some power. I'm happier with this pick. Not sure on Nick Wells.

I don't mind Wells. Sounds like the kind of guy you can strike gold on. Not so fond of this pick, but I don't think it's a bad one either. I just like some of the other guys on the board better.

Is Justin Steele still on the board? He was rising pretty fast, before the draft.

Yup, still on the board. Might be able to do a Jake Brentz with him if he falls past 10.

Not easy to do a Brentz or a Tellez if you don't already have a Hollon.

Wells is a Hollon, or not?

83th slot - $661,800

Wow, why doesn't BA 500 have LaValley...

I'd say Lavalley and Houck are Callis guys. MLB did a good job snagging him from BA, though I think it weakened BA a bit.
