NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Boston takes a 2-0 lead on a Brock Holt home run. Dammit!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Sox go on the road for 9 straight after Sunday. They'll probably cool down a little.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Red Sox are on fire right now. Up 3-0 right now and if they win TB is going to fall to 9.5 games back and 10 games under .500. Rays are probably going to start selling off a few key players by the deadline.

Rays are probably going to start selling off a few key players by the deadline. Now 4-0 Boston. Can you believe most US networks, including ESPN, predicted the Rays to win the AL East? They've turned into last year's Jays instead, while the Jays are in 1st. Boston's going to face Cleveland, Detroit and Baltimore after this on the road. They're due to cool off soon. Tampa Bay is a joke right now, so it's no surprise Boston is winning. Too bad they'll gain no ground UNLESS the Angels lose.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 JBJ hits a 2-run jack off of Cesar Ramos. 7-0 now. Things are really falling apart in Tampa. How long until their attendance drops to Expos level which leads the team to move somewhere else, possibly Montreal?

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Rays are in implosion mode. As of right now they only have 14% odds to make the playoffs and things don't appear to be getting any better.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'm going to be honest. I'm not upset to see the Sox destroy the Rays. I f***ing hate the Rays.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 What a gong show. He clearly ran off that line there though.

He missed the tag and then threw the ball past Loney for a base hit for Brock Holt. Joe Maddon must be wishing he was on a better ballclub right now.. with the team falling apart, he'll likely be demanding out of Tampa soon.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I don't think I've ever seen so many laughers for games in one day. At least 5 ugly one sided slaughters today.

Just wants the rays to win to halt any Boston momentum and keep them way down in the division. Better for the Jays if the last place team beats the 4th place team.

It's fun to see one of the favourites get buried which only helps our cause, however we would be better off if the Rays won this game. Not likely now, but hopefully the Rays come back strong tomorrow.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Jackie Bradley might be seriously hurt.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 True. It's just funny to see the Rays fanboys squirm a little though. Seems like they are posting less these days.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nm, Ball just hit him in the face. He's fine.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Rays have another hurt catcher? ROFL @ rolling with Jose Molina as your starter. Pathetic.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Someone blew smoke in to the hive? The fire sale will be interesting to follow. Who gets traded? Price? Zobrist? Who else?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Seems like they are posting less these days. Still here. I said this weeks ago, Rays are not playing good baseball. No injury excuses at all, they could have their entire team 100% and they'd lose games based on effort alone (of course they might be putting in a different effort). I still think Boston is the team to beat in this division but still they are not a top 10 team in baseball
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nm, Ball just hit him in the face. He's fine. Yep, he is. But you can imagine they'll be checking for a concussion after the game.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Bradley probably has a concussion. Stupid to let him continue like that.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 The fire sale will be interesting to follow. Who gets traded? Price? Zobrist? Who else? Loney, Dejesus, Escobar, Balfour, and possibly even Longoria if Sternberg orders a Expos 1995-style fire sale, which would not be surprising, especially if he feels no progress is being made on a new stadium.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 You need to take another player, Schwarber was drafted by Spanky at pick #10! that mock draft sucks...zero chance the Mets take Schwarber. No one is drafting like their big club. Wasted a good writeup
admin Site Manager Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 We can create this thread again coming down the stretch, but right now with Around baseball, it's pointless.

They would have to play .600 ball the rest of the season and I don't think they are good enough to do that.
