At least for me Baty feels like an average infield bat you could pickup off waivers which is not terribly valuable in a 20 team, though he does seem to have a clear path for MLB playing time in the near future, I just don't feel like his ceiling is particularly high even when he was mashing in double-A

He’s definitely got some different projections going on. I usually like The Bat more than the others and they don’t like him all. Pretty solid projections everywhere else though

Maybe not but 3B is really thin these days

George Springer for Bobby Miller, Brett Baty, and a 3rd that will be like #45 likely.

Fair? Springer team is rebuilding and has a need at both positions

Owner is a Newb, so figured to lay it out there

You know he posts on this forum everyday, right? He's not rebuilding, hasn't said so anyhow, meat.

I know douchebag, he’s getting his feet wet, so I was letting the peanut gallery chip in

For a final roster cutdown, who would you cut: James Paxton or Stephen Strasburg?

You won't miss either but Strasburg seems done. Paxton a remote chance to be useful again. I guess.

I was going to pick Painter with the first pick, but with his elbow tenderness should I pivot to Tiedemann? Other options are Baz and Flaherty. The team won't compete for a couple years so it doesn't matter if they aren't playing until next year sometime.

Of the 4, it's still Painter for me, but if you are leery, a Tiedemann pivot is the right play.

Tiedemann and Painter have equal talent so Ricky is the easy choice now

If all healthy I like Baz > Painter > Tiedemann

If health risk matters to you Tiedemann > Painter > Baz

I trust the Rays pitching development pedigree also pitcher friendly environment. Painter’s stuff is disgusting but also screams TJ flags, but the talent is undeniable.

I’m not sure Tiedemann is exactly #1 upside just yet, the sample is kinda small to take that leap of faith. But a lot of reports indicate the lefty has the stuff to be frontline. We really won’t know until he comes up here.

20 year old lefty throws 97-99 FB, plus slider, and plus-plus change up. If this is not #1 upside, what is exactly?

2nds are worthless in 20+ team leagues

Don’t project your inadequacies onto others. I feel I’ve performed solid there

I would say diluted vs a 12 teamer etc, but worthless? 2-1 = 21st overall and there is still a lot of value to be had in the 20s if you draft well.

Is Stone available?

Okay, go try to trade one for anything other than a cut candidate or mediocre reliever

They only periodically have some tiny bit of value

They don't have much value on their own, but I always like getting 2nds as kickers in bigger deals.
