Is Trevor Story cooked? I checked out his Savant page and a lot of blue and not much red. He was dropped in my dynasty league. I was going to take Painter with my pick but wondered about Story. Stick with Painter?

Savant is just telling (or can I should say) the same story as stats. Injury can impact both. So it becomes determining what kind of impact you think injuries had. But to the point, I would automatically reject a Story for Painter proposal, whether I was in win now or a rebuild

Probably if it was two established members it would be something more serious because there would clearly be some kind of quid pro quo going on.

No, there really isn't. They are the lowest ranked of the players I have. The league was initially 20 players to keep but reduced it to 18. So it's messing with my team. I even have Torkelson who I still like that I have to cut. Sucks.

I wouldn’t cut Tork until next year. There’s definitely a lot of guys that you know what they are and it won’t be crushing. If Tork becomes a Top 50 asset, that would sting

As a reference, Fantrax has the P both around 130. Tork at 160. I didn’t scroll past 300 to find Kirk. I like him as a Jay, but he’s a C. Jays signed a guy that could potentially get the bulk of DH duties, the people here keep insisting that Danny Jansen is good…. So I would drop Kirk’s fat ass

My 18 right now are:

 

Kirk, Guerrero, Albies, Bregman, Franco, Witt Jr., Soto, Alvarez, Carroll, Vaughan.

 

Burnes, Woodruff, Nola, Bieber, Peralta, Grayson, May, Eury Perez.

 

I also have Torkelson, Baz, Springs, and Tovar that I have to drop.

 

I also have the #1 pick crazy enough and I was always looking to pick a Painter. But now that the league changed the rules (I was going to keep Baz and Tork under the old rules) I was curious of which 2 of should keep of Kirk, Baz, and Painter.

 

My league is incredibly frustrating. I offered Baz, Torkelson, Springs, and Tovar all for another player or picks and no one bit. So I'm going to lose these players outright.

12. But I'm by far the most active. I've grabbed basically ever top breakout player and used them to upgrade. Like I grabbed McClanahan, Michael Harris II, Pasquautino, Lodolo, Gunnar Henderson, Moreno, etc and used them in trades. Some of the teams didn't even use the waiver wire at all. It's such a frustrating league. I've only traded with about 4 teams because no one else is active. I also got very lucky in buying low on players. Bregman was coming off a 120wrc season 2 years prior, and a 122wrc season the year before. When I traded for him he was hitting .202 with a wRC of 102 and 6 homers in mid-June. I also got Bieber when he was pitching to a 4.50 era for the month of the trade. But I gave up Gunnar Henderson, Lodolo, Moreno+ to get him. So I've lost in trades as well. Lol.

I also got Soto for Rodon, Taylor Ward (when he was hot), Kelenic, and a 2nd round pick. I actually feel bad about that trade. Never thought he'd actually accept it at the time.

In a 12 team league Torkelson can scram. Painter might impact this year. Kirk is squarely in the top half of C.

Yeah, I got super lucky as I got players like Guerrero and Yordan on the cheap before their breakouts. I got Grayson and Marte for Strasburg and flipped Marte in a package for an upgrade.

 

Like I said, I have such a strong team because I was the only active player. I got Peralta, Rodon, McClanahan, Baz, Witt Jr,. Gunnar Henderson, Moreno, Eury Perez, Kirk, Carroll, Springs, etc all on the waiver wire before their big breakouts.

Witt Jr and Carroll should have never been available off waivers
