The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Sale for Harper in a 30 team league? I'm conflicted because my offense is stout with LeMahieu Hiura Vladito Machado Robert Meadows Happ Donaldson Bench O'Neill Cano Miggy Fisher My pitching is Verlander Sale Miley Reyes Puk Sanchez (Aaron) Borucki Kuhl Betances Britton Alvarado Roe Magill Witgren Biagini I'd probably move Sale for Harper in LOD.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I would like some opinions on Nick Anderson.. Value in himself or only as a complimentary piece, comparative value? 7X7 HTH leagues. Thanks

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I would like some opinions on Nick Anderson.. Value in himself or only as a complimentary piece, comparative value? 7X7 HTH leagues. Thanks Looks like a top 10 reliever to me, possibly top 5. I would not take him over Josh Hader but there aren't many other obviously better relievers. In dynasty you might put younger guys like Edwin Diaz or Osuna above him, in redraft you probably take Kirby Yates and maybe Chapman over him... Anderson is similar to Ken Giles but I think Anderson has even more upside. This is all for leagues with saves and holds so not really considering closer security.

I very much appreciate it! Great analysis.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 What is the best mix of SP vs RP to have in available ML slots when the season starts in a Dynasty 7x7 HTH league? In other words, 7 SP s and 5 RPs? (Not sure how many reserve spots there are in season on the 25 for pitchers. However, I hope you understand my question. Thanks in advance.

My preference is to have 5 SP, 5 RP, and 3 SP/RP that are primarily relievers (that I can put in SP slots). Such that on any given day, I could accumulate stats from 7-8 pitchers. Tough to get it to this point though. Takes ~3 months into the season and plenty of FA/waiver wire moves.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) I think we should move this thread to the main forum. It's not really that off topic and I think it would get more attention over there. What do you guys think? EDIT: Thanks! Edited January 7, 2020 by Terminator
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 So I have the #2 pick for a MiLB draft in a dynasty league. The available players are generally just the 2019 draftees and international signees. Who should I be targeting? Would the 16 year old Jasson Dominguez be a crazy pick or does that make sense? Not sure if any of the draftees excite me more than him.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 I think it makes sense. My top 3 are Vaughn, Dominguez, and Rutschman, in that order.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 I think it makes sense. My top 3 are Vaughn, Dominguez, and Rutschman, in that order. Thanks buddy. The #1 guy is taking Riley Greene for some reason so I suppose I'll have to make a choice between Vaughn and Dominguez. After looking at it some it looks like Vaughn is the clear cut choice. Dominguez is intriguing but he's so young.

Watch other pools (LOD probably has the first draft) and follow the reactions. Dominguez warning would be Kevin Maitan. Warning against not picking him would be Vladdy. White Sox have shown a desire to compete really soon. Vaughn could be fast-tracked and debut as early as 2021. Not taking Adley downside is that you might be missing out on the next Buster Posey. The downside is you might have to cheer for an Oriole. There is no right choice, you can only go wrong. Sorry you cannot go as wrong as the guy picking Riley Greene!

KennerKid Verified Member Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Realistic: what do you guys expect from Vladdy this year? I own him in big money keeper league
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Realistic: what do you guys expect from Vladdy this year? I own him in big money keeper league I think there's too many variables to tell. If he has changed his body quite a lot, he might struggle initially until he gets used to them. He might also break out big. I wouldn't be surprised to see anything between 115 wRC+ and 140 wRC+. I think I'd be surprised outside of that.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Realistic: what do you guys expect from Vladdy this year? I own him in big money keeper league .290/.355/.500 with like 25/85/85 if he stays healthy. huge variance though but 2019 is a not terrible floor from a 3B in fantasy
Maine Jays Verified Member Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 18 team dynasty, keep 30. I'm being offered Ohtani (the pitching version), Kluber, Christian Pache, Austin Hayes and Raisel Islesias for Javier Baez and Kyle Schwaber. I already have Trea Turner and Tatis at SS, with Baez losing his 2B eligibility and only one UTIL spot in the lineup available. Would I be better off focusing on trading him for a 2B or taking the deal and worry about second base later?

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 14 team dynasty. Would you take Franmil Reyes and #5 MilB pick for #2 overall pick?

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 nah. franmil seems like he would be close to replacement level. Yeah, especially in a 14 team league.
