FYI, just removed from his start after just 53 pitches. Not sure if I should post this here.

Sanchez for Samardizija would be outstanding.

If you think we can reasonably compete this year then yes... but that's pretty random.

Even if you don't, Samardzija will have more trade value than Sanchez come the offseason. Or he can just be extended for 4-5 years.

What? Samardzija is a boss, and Sanchez is on the road to crippling his trade value.

You made a good point, I had nothing else to say.

You guys realize how many dominant starting pitchers had control issues in their early years? Doc Halladay included.

Sanchez minor league career BB/9 = 4.7, Halladay = 3.0

Cliff lee was 4.2 BB/9 in the minors and he has had one of the lowest walk rates in the majors for years....pitchers develop at different rates. Sanchez is a guy who needs to work on some things...but that doesn't mean he's never going to get it.

Why bank on a 50/50 chance when you have a final product like Shark coming this way?

It is NOT a 50/50 chance that Sanchez fixes his walks lol

Way to throw out realistic comparisons, what, no Sandy Koufax?

What would you put the odds at?

At highest, 70/30 against. This is baseball. Prospects bust. And things don't look good for him.

You guys always assume the worst lol...

This. GD. You are right. Prospects bust all the time.... But this board is ridiculous in the sense how the hive jumps all over themselves about how s***** everything is.

Before the season weren't a lot on this board dreading AA trading Sanchez for Samardzija?

Why do they always pull guys half-way through games anyway... trying to make it extra mysterious and dramatic or something

No because if they've been traded, they don't own them anymore so they can't be pitching for them...

Dreading trading Sanchez + Stroman for Samardzija, yes.

This would have been pretty terrible.

You're missing the point. There's 166 other hours in a week to trade a player but it always seems to happen WHILE they're pitching.

obviously a year and a half of Shark vs a lot more cheap years of a young kid. I'm not 100% against the idea...but I'd rather have a year and a half of price....not saying we could get price for that...but with price you know what your getting..he's been in the AL east his entire career.

Fair enough... Most deals probably happen in the evening when GMs across North America are all working at the same time (pacific being 3hrs behind) and half their work day is during their team's game. When deals usually include multiple players, the odds are at least 1 of them would be playing.
