Convo Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I like the part where Stroman pitches 6 inning no hitter and as soon as they take him out the next guy gives up 3 hits in 1 inning.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 what does stro's numbers tonight equate against KC?
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Game is delayed because of rain. Get Stro on a plane to KC, he can throw an inning or two tonight.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 The time is now. Unleash Stroman
jerb Verified Member Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Buffalo Bisons @BuffaloBisons When #Bisons Marcus Stroman wasn't striking out #Bats batters tonight, he was doing this! #WebGem @BlueJays @MStrooo7 http://t.co/utv9E6xNak

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So are "We" doing this? Did Dusty throw a hitch into this plan and the brakes came on! Is the pressure now on Morrow to prove his worth?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So are "We" doing this? Did Dusty throw a hitch into this plan and the brakes came on! Is the pressure now on Morrow to prove his worth? It's hard to get a feel on the whole situation. McGowan seemed to cross a threshold in terms of durability in his last start but he still wasn't all that effective and his overall numbers are still bad. He's probably done no more than earn himself another start. If McGowan is over his fatigue issues, that's reason for optimism but optimism has to translate to better overall results at some point. He's still very much on the bubble.
Key22 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 The Jays pitching staff overall is clearly a disaster and I get the appeal of bringing up Stroman - if he's ready and they think he'll be effective then bring him up. He seems like he has a brain http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=32464733&sid=t422 The bullpen has been overworked which may be a reason why they've also been ineffective. Starters are near the bottom of the league in IP once again. Morrow and McGowan have been poor overall. I'm not sure why the Jays can't get an innings eating number 4-5 guy. If the Jays can bring up a guy and that guy is a bit electric and can win some games it brings some boost to the clubhouse I'm sure. So I don't see any downsides to it. If he gets lit up big deal - everyone is getting lit up at this point.

Eragon Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 f***ing team Wow you really dislike McG or you are just loving Stroman?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 OK But it's just a matter of time before he's up here Probably at some point, but reality is that really our starters are really only being asked to improve by 2-4 outs per game to be Al average to Elite in outs per game!Does not seem too much to ask really, does it ? on the flip side that means our eight man bull pen as only been over worked by those same 2-4 outs per game does not seem as bad looking at it that way either, plus they have a extra arm. Some blame can also be given to how we have deployed our pitchers, been a couple questionable moves! one or all of the 3 long men can go and i would not care!
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 If or when Stroman gets the call to the show. Who would you like to see take his place in buffalo, Norris or Sanchez ? and completely off topic but yet kinda related if Romero was to quit Do we still have to pay him? And can he be assigned to lower then AAA in the system or can he refuse

And can he be assigned to lower then AAA in the system or can he refuse Norris to move up to Buffalo If Romero "quit" we would no longer have to pay him. A player can opt of their contract any time they want. Then then become a free agent, BUT then they can't play for another team for 1 year. But why would he do that???

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Some nice pitches there. And some so-so ones. Some of those 3rd strike pitches would NOT get past the Miggys/Pedroias/Donaldsons/Longorias of the AL unless they were set up REALLY well

Why in the world would he? No one else is going to guarantee him a major league starting job, nor pay him anywhere near the 7.5M we're giving him annually.
