G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Stroman Pitch Count this year: 73 89 94 95 I think that he can handle the workload. That's like 4-5 IP for McGowan or Morrow It's incredible how innefficient they've been
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Stroman strikes out 2 in the 4th, now 4 IP with 6K 1BB still no hits.
GoldBull Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 That's like 4-5 IP for McGowan or Morrow It's incredible how innefficient they've been In their defense, Stroman is only averaging a little over 5IP per start. He's not the most efficient guy either.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Stroman strikes out 2 in the 4th, now 4 IP with 6K 1BB still no hits. he's got to know he's close and might be up next start if he is solid and the jays get another 3 inning start tonight
GoldBull Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Strikes out the side in the 5th... 5IP 0H 1BB 9K (67 pitches so far)

Efficiency is probably better to measure on a pitch/inning basis. Raw # of IP may be because of a developmental plan the team has laid out for him.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Stroman final minor league outing 5 scoreless, walk, 9 K's http://i.imgur.com/frnXxyM.gif
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Does anyone else think that knowing he's being watched so closely for a potential Blue Jays rotation opening motivated him a bit today? Maybe that's a stretch but he does seem like that kind of guy. Open the door a CRACK and and he'll bust it wide open.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Good news... We don't have to root for a McGowan meltdown now... Stroman appears headed here regardless. Let's hope McGowan gives us 5 or 6 solid tonight.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Jesus No, his name is Marcus. He just FEELS like the saviour right now.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Jenkins could be cut too, as he has options. JA Happ or Esmil Rogers are possible cuts as well.

Caper Verified Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Stroman taken out due to forearm tightness.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Hmm..... why?? Wouldn't they want to get the pitch count up... is he injured? If not pitch count, they've probably seen all they needed to see and wanted to avoid injury and leave on a high note. That pretty much does it. Welcome to the Show, Stro. This is gonna be fun.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 The last major league debut from a first rounder from the Toronto Blue Jays was James Paxton, who owns a 71 xFIP- in 6 career starts with the Mariners after not signing with the Blue Jays. The last signed first rounder from the Toronto Blue Jays to debut in the majors was Chad Jenkins, who owns a 111 xFIP- in 67 career innings. Jenkins was notably taken 5 picks before undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Mike Trout.
