Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Or you don't have one and don't like people who don't agree with you. Expand your horizons a little bit. You might like what you see. Positional value has been proven multiple times, you can't just disagree with something that is proven to be true. Exhibit A: EE and Lind both play at an offensive based position, one could even argue that EE last year was more valuable than what Bautista would have done at 1st. Bautista plays at least average defense at RF, you move him to 1B, he instantly lose a great deal of value. It's literally costing the team wins.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Yanks are going to have some solid pitching. Pineda is looking pretty solid
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 I don't think he meant now with what we currently have. I addressed it in the edit. This team's biggest acquisition was Kratz. The farm is in shambles, and we had to pool player salaries to get $13MM in the account. Also we still haven't signed Drew. Where are we going to get these players?
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 WoW. Pineda looking awesome. He the #5 starter?
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 These are some putrid looking AB's... Pineda has a nice slider going, but he's hung a fair amount of them... Terrible job by the bats today
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Rasmus needs to sit a few games like if he continues to hit like this for a few weeks he can kiss his big FA contract goodbye

It's ok, we still have a 2-3 year window! lol
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 dopey dog's in JPA mode to start the season.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Tomorrow lineup Melky CF Lawrie 3B Bautista RF Encarnacion 1B Navarro DH Sierra LF Kratz C Izturis 2B Diaz SS
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 This is just an unfair post. I never said you can do this now. But moves in the future that could benefit us. Bringing up Goins was just stupid. It doesn't matter if hes a better defender in this situation because hes not an everday player. People on this board are completely unreasonable. You're right, you didn't see my edit: Edit: For the rest of the quote I hope you know that Jays players wanted to pool money to sign Santana. We don't have $13MM in the account. The farm is also depleted. Where the f*** can we get a good CF, RF and SS? AA doesn't want to even sign Drew We don't have $13MM so basically every premium FA is off limits. No farm means no big trades. Are we just going to pick a shortstop, center fielder and right fielder from the baseball tree?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 2014 - 21 PA and 10 K's 2013 - 23 PA and 10 K's
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Rasmus won't get started if he's sitting. Throw him in the 7th or 8th spot, not second. Colby is a frustrating streaky hitter.
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Dickey got away with a mistake. Should have thrown something way out of the zone with 2 strikes on Soriano.

Colby is a frustrating streaky hitter. I want Lawrie to try hitting 2nd. He's smoking a lot of balls and has a good approach. Putting him infront of Bautista means more strikes
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 This offense is putrid. Looks not diff then last year in april.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 The Yanks basically have 3 #1 pitchers, and 2 #2 pitchers.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Diaz is friggen everywhere he needs to be lol
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 The Yanks basically have 3 #1 pitchers, and 2 #2 pitchers. What? lol Name me these "#1's"
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Everything factors on what your replacing them with. Im not talking about our current roster. But what our future roster. I would prefer to not have Rasmus in CF and Bautista in RF long term. Long term meaning beyond this year. Please try to understand this. Let's say in a perfect world tomorrow we acquire Craig Gentry, and move Rasmus to LF, yay, good times! Then we have Bautista, who even without playing the best defense at RF is one of the most valuable players (easily) at the position, and what you would be doing is placing him in a position that already has two players that can provide about the same or more value than him. Wow the positioning is spot on for the infield this game. Great job by the staff.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Lineup vs. CC should be Melky Lawrie Bauista Encarnacion Navarro Kratz Rasmus Izturis Diaz I agree with this, but we probably see Sierra somewhere.
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Seriously stop throwing 2 strike pitches over the plate.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 What? lol Name me these "#1's" uhh Pineda/Tanaka/Kuroda
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Obviously we would be bringing in someone else is the case of making. Lets use the example of this past off- season. Signing Sin-Soo Choo to play RF. Moving Bautista to 1B and Edwin to full time DH. In this situation we would be trading Adam Lind. A lot of people wanted him gone last year. Is that not a pure upgrade? I'm just using Choo as an example. Not saying its going to happen. Argues about bringing in better defenders to fill in the position, mentions Choo, smart.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Seriously stop throwing 2 strike pitches over the plate. It's been a problem with this team for years
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
